Wow! We returned to the Founders Brook, and the renovation looks great! It was clean, attractive, and comfortable. It was just over a year since our last stay, and such an improvement to the entire place! Love it!
The only thing we didn’t have is extra pillows.

Room tip: Google places to eat; we found Evelyn’s. There is so much going on within a few minutes!

Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of this property. the units are pretty spread out so if you are looking for an ideal property great for social distancing this is a good choice. 3 minutes drive from the nearest beach and about 20 minutes drive to the heart of Newport/Bristol. we stayed in a suite which was nicely appointed with a queen size bed and a double pull out sofa. Our room (23) was equipped with a reading area, flat screen tv mini fridge as well as a coffee/tea maker. I was informed daily maid services were stopped due to COVID but if you need extra supplies you just have to phone the front desk. Staff was friendly and the grounds are well maintained.

Room tip: Room 23 is a great suite.

I recently stayed here for a short weekend getaway. I was a bit nervous about staying here as the reviews are mixed and it seems like the reviews differ depending on the room. The hotel is going through an upgrade and I understand the plan is to renovate all rooms as a number of the rooms are dated.

We were lucky enough to stay in a newly renovated room as we really enjoyed it! The room was immensely clean and had the basic amenities needed (including a nice little kitchenette area). The hotel is in a great area and a short drive to Ocean Drive and Cliff Walk (beautiful areas worth visiting). I can't speak for the older rooms but I'm sure once upgraded the rooms will be just as nice.

The team in the office were also very nice and friendly and made us feel welcome.

This lovely establishment is welcoming the minute you drive up. It’s a bit off the main road, and reminded me of little white washed cottages. The people in the office are nice.
(Everyone was wearing masks and COVID policy signage and policy visible)

We are thrilled to find a nice place in Portsmouth, however, it was a bit pricey for the outdated accommodations. There were 3 of us. We stayed in a suite that consisted of a living room with a very comfortable pull out, and Bedroom with 2 very comfortable full size beds. It looked and smelled clean he minute we walked in.

We stayed 2 nights. There was no housekeeping, garbage removal, or towel replacement. (I kinda like coming back to my bed being made and new towels, especially during a heat wave.) It was a good thing we kept the trash can in the closet where we found it, as our banana peels would have smelled the whole place up.

The living room has a kitchenette that seems to be from the 1950’s with a fridge that looked like it had mold (pictured). There was a new microwave that lives on the kitchen table. There was a nice little coffee pot with the standard condiments for 2 cups of coffee. Most of the floor is nice except for the spot by the door....(pictured)

The roomy bedroom was clean with outdated drapes and bedspreads. It was fine. It was a little creepy that the ceiling had an attic door with locks on it (pictured).

The bathroom was clean, but in need of a total update. The floor tiles are cracked, and the caulk around the sink was discolored. I liked the shower. There was no blow dryer, so bring your own.

All in all, it was fine. We are hoping they are in the process of updating as it’s so close to our family. (We saw some rooms with what looked like mattresses, microwaves and boxes....so work might be underway)

This hotel is not clean and I am constantly killing bugs I can hear the guy snoring next door! The staff does not smile. They are price gouging due to the lack of people traveling this summer. Oh and I found a clump of blonde hair under the bed.
