My husband and I stayed at the inn many times in the past. This was the best stay at The Georgian Inn of Somerset yet. They are under new ownership and the renovations are great. New paint and decor, that didn't take away from the age of the house. The atmosphere is great and you feel like your at home. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was awesome. I would suggest if you go to Somerset you need to check out the inn and check in and stay the night. The weekend of June 24 to the 27 is there grand opening, because of the new ownership. My husband and I are planning to attend. They have one of a kind creations coming out of the kitchen and also a new dinner chef.

The first impression was that of a newly remodled space, however this quickly faded when the food and service came into play.

The food was undercooked and had to be sent back to be redone, the staff acted as though we were intruding on thier personal time.
The owner refused to admit that his staff or accomodations was anything but stellar.
He had the allusion that his establishment was not to be questioned.
Steer clear of this place for anything but a bed to sleep in, which you can get for much less down the road.

Now called The Georgian Inn at Somerset and under new ownership as of April 1, 2010. We stayed one night -- after Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob and before the Flight 93 memorial (9/11 plane) -- and it was fine for the $99 price. Claw-foot bath tub without shower was difficult to maneuver for baby boomers, but the NEW OWNERS are remodeling to upgrade to showers in every room. Very clean rooms. The white tablecloth dinner (not included) was delicious and the sunporch breakfast (included) was exquisite. Of the "100 Things Restaurant Staffers Should Never Do" by Bruce Buschel in the New York Times,
they did number 10, but that's okay -- they did number 17, and that's not okay. Also on site is a tavern/bar, which we did not experience. The new owners seem to be professional and responsive. The female half is delightful and still working as a nurse. The male half is willing to go to Walmart with his staff's requests. We were pleased to see a wireless router on the table with the complimentary Keurig single cup coffee/tea/hot chocolate maker in the hallway. Give your money to these fine people than to a hotel chain. You can see the building from the PA Turnpike at Somerset -- high on the hill.

Stayed here in early January while xc skiing. We were treated to an upgraded room. The restaurant served an excellent meal. The problem is that this hotel is used by young downhill skiers who are inconsiderate of others. At 2am, I was awakened by talking in the halls and the next room by young males. This went on to 3:30am. We won't be back.

We stayed for several nights in the Sally Zimmerman room. The Inn is pleasant and large yet warm. It is _old_ as other reviewers and the staff noted more than once. Upkeep seems to be an issue which makes the place seem less than spotless. Our room was very large overlooking the lake (and outlet center). The views in the sunroom at breakfast were amazing. When we arrived back both nights after 10pm all pub and restaurant activitiy had completely ceased. Staff was friendly and non-intrusive. the first morning, we were surprised that our room was cleaned, bed made and towels replaced in the time it took us to eat breakfast!
