I stayed here by myself and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is going for a shabby-chic look, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved it.
My room was modern and hip and roomy and had a very comfortable bed and a beautiful view of the church across the street. The shower was huge and had great water pressure. I love the little amenities like the coffee table books and the pencil and notepads, which I actually used. The location is great if you’re looking for a fun but relaxed neighborhood. On Sunday there was a vintage clothing event in the space that was formerly a gym. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only downside was that the lobby café and restaurant did not know how to make a good cup of coffee. I can’t imagine that Stumptown would be proud of the brown water that I was served on two separate occasions. Also, the lobby got very crowded on weekends.More
