“Cheap, delicious, & HUGE sandwiches!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2012

I had a pastrami & cheese sandwich (topped w/ the standard cole slaw & french fries, of course!) and it was amazing. It was cheap, huge, and prepared quickly. We sat at a table but the bartender was still on top of refilling our drinks. Check out this location, as its the original. There's a lot of interesting history behind this place and its founders. Highly recommend, and will be visiting again if I'm back in Pittsburgh!

“The IN crowd eats here late”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2012

Don't expect ANY atmosphere, just your basic Pittsburgh make-it-work-out-of-a-hole-in-the-wall space. Long stainless steel bar, barely cleaned-off tables, bathrooms in the dungeon, and famous Pittsburghers mural painted on the walls...BUT...a Pittsburgh classic. Go after the bars close and get a cap and cheese on Mancini's Italian bread piled high with fries and coleslaw.

“Local freakshow sandwich”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2012

Yes, this is the one. This is where we put the french fried *inside* the sandwich. Worth the hype? You decide. It's quite yummy once every decade of so.
