We had dinner there and did not stay there. We had been here many times before it had reopened.
It is a wonderful building with loads of character. The dinner menu is short, but offers beef, chicken and fish selections, possibly vegetarian. My $34 ahi tuna was overpriced for the size of the portion and slightly overcooked, not good for tuna. When my meal was served I was informed a tomato salad was substituted for veges and potatoes, what? How does that work out? My friend's dinner was a better portion, but average flavor.
I feel the place has no identity. With a near empty dining room possibly a less expensive menu and more choices would fit the typical weekend traffic. Not sure, but something's needs to be done or unfortunately the place will not last.

Stayed at the Mansion Inn on June 14 and 15 for a family wedding. The Inn was very nice but the service is a bit raggedy. Other rooms are lovely but ours was meh with a very tight bathroom and the air conditioner was not installed. You need this to cover the noise from outside if not for the heat. We asked but it was never installed. Also the invoicing was a bit screwed up and the room was not set up properly for the three people as requested. Breakfast is also a bit unpredictable. They need more help when the Inn is filled. On a weekend they were out of basics like eggs, toast, orange juice and they have no de-caff coffee which seems strange. Breakfast service needs a lot of work although it is well meaning. They do a big restaurant business but that leaves no place to sit if you are a guest and the seating areas are taken up by diners. Hopefully for the future they can get their act together.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the barn or the Balmoral room. The others are much nicer.

We just spent the last weekend in New Hope and had a great weekend. Our stay at the Mansion Inn was very nice and Alex was very accommodating. The new owners have only been operating the inn for 10 weeks and they are clearly still learning. The inn is very nice, but in need of some updating. The only negative aspect of our stay was breakfast. Since this is advertised as a Bed & Breakfast, there should be a formal breakfast. Instead, the server (who is also the cook) tells you he will cook whatever you want. They try very hard to meet requests, but they don't always have what you want and breakfast ends up a little disorganized. They would do better with a formal menu, so guests know what they have and they know what to stock. Also, the kitchen doesn't open until 8 AM, so they need to put out a pot of coffee for early risers. Regardless of this issue, our stay was very nice and I'm sure they'll only improve. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The Hampton Court Room is very nice.

We have never been to New Hope and this was our first experience of the town and of the Mansion Inn. The parking was great. We walked through the garden to get into the Mansion Inn to be greeted by a very warm and welcoming innkeeper, Mike. We immediately felt at home.

We stayed in the Hampton Court Room which had a queen bed and private bath.

Before our trip we read some negative reviews on here and on yelp that made us a little worried, but as soon as we met Mike and got into the room we were no longer worried. We couldn't even tell there was a kitchen fire or that it was shut down for a period of time. It was nicely painted and decorated. It had a modern feel without disregarding the beautiful history of the Inn. The place only has 5 rooms so it's a nice, quiet place to stay.

Our room was nice and clean. Sure the TV was a little small, but we weren't staying at the Inn to watch TV. We were there to explore the town and go on a winery tour. For both nights after we came back from dinner we took our wine out to the porch and drank while we people watched. Starbucks, a wine store, an ice cream store and two really great restaurants are immediately surrounding the Inn.

You will not be disappointed with your stay. You're going to love Mike. We wish we could convince him to have a glass of wine with us. The Inn has a lot of cool history behind it with beautiful details.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hampton Court room.

My daughter Lisa and I escaped to New Hope for some rest and relaxation from our crazy schedules. We had seen The Mansion Inn on a previous trip to New Hope and thought it looked charming. We booked online and stayed there for two nights on July 29th and 30th, 2013. After we booked we heard they had had a kitchen fire and had just reopened a few months before, so we really did not know if it would be as we remembered. We were a little leery after hearing about the fire, as staying there was not inexpensive. We should not have worried. We were greeted by Mike, the new innkeeper who has a dynamite personality and could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable. We fell in love with the Inn, and Mike just made us feel so welcome! My only disappointment was the outside garden which seems to need some tender loving care, but I am sure the garden will get the care it deserves with Mike at the helm! I am a minister who does a lot of wedding ceremonies, so I immediately noticed the beautiful gazebo in the back, I would love to do a wedding there, it would be a beautiful setting,it just needs more flowers. We found the inn to be clean, comfortable and very relaxing. You cannot beat the location, and my daughter who drove was thrilled that there was so much to do, all within walking distance, we did not even move the car for the entire stay. We fell in love with the inn, and with Mike, and may make this our yearly retreat get-away spot! Do not hesitate to stay there, both Mike and the beautiful old inn will welcome you with open arms! We loved it, and will go back!

Room Tip: we stayed on the 3rd floor in the main house, called it "our tree house" up there, worth the climb way up the majestic staircase!
