“Good, but room for improvement”
Reviewed 27 December 2007

We just returned from the Inn at Bear Creek and while we loved almost everything about our stay, there is room for improvement.

The Inn is beautiful, clean and well staffed. We stayed in a King Suite which had a wonderful view of the ski slopes. The suite was tastefully decorated, well appointed and quite comfortable for a family of four.

The hotel staff was polite and helpful.

The Inn recently underwent a magnificient renovation and expansion which included another restaurant/lounge, more meeting rooms, a spa and an outdoor heated pool and hot tub area (both were closed when we were there).

Although the ammenities of the Inn are lovely, THEY END AT 11;00 ON THE DAY OF YOUR CHECK OUT. Once you check out, you must move your car out of the parking lot, you no longer have access to the Inn's pool, hot tubs, entrances, storage areas, locks, etc. I found this to be hightly unusual for a upscale resort and spoke with the manager about it. She indicated to me that once you pay your bill, you are no longer considered a guest and that the Inn cannot allow non-registered guests, even if they were there the night before. to use any other their facilities on the day of check-out . While the Inn at Bear Creek wants to present itself as an upscale resort; once the 11:00 AM hour hits, you might as well have stayed at the Motel 6 the evening before. If the resort had made some accomodations in this regard, it would have been a PERFECT stay. I hope the management will take this as constructive criticism and make some changes in this regard.

  • Liked — views, proximity to the slopes

To say anything negative about BC would be a slap in their face. All (and I mean the entire) staff wrapped that "coat of comfort" around us. We stayed from 03/16 to 03/18 in the King Deluxe Suite. Don't let the sound of that put $$ signs floating around in your mind, the price is very reasonable and we are upset that we can not book it again for 6 more months. It is just hotel policy not to take resevations so far in advance. My wife, 9 year old son and myself had a wonderful family recharging. The suite was unbelievable in design(layout), space and second to none views.
Fireplace, king size bed, pull-out sofa sleeper, jaccuzzi, fridge, 2 tv's, table & chairs & huge bathroom. The Grill / Restaurant is beautiful in also design, menu selection and it's views.
There are fireplaces all through-out the property and with that in mind, when at the pool(indoor with hot-tub), try going to outside hot-tub at night while it's snowing! WOW!! We met many new friends and hope they come back same time next season.

Oh, almost forgot to mention that my wife and I did not go skiing this outing.
We placed Frankie in a 61/2 hour ski school called Kodiak
Kids; his first time on skis. My hat's off to Ted, Hank & Tony P. for giving him such attention and having him now wanting to come and ski on a daily basis. (THANKS GUYS!!!) Lynn and I just walked the grounds (inside & out), watched the slopes, ate, drank, hot-tub, jaccuzzi & pool and enjoyed the live band "Parrot Beach"while knowing he was in good company.

Well I guess you all just have to experience BC and write about it as I did because you will have a difficult time finding something wrong. I challenge that negative reviewer!
