King's Cottage Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #8 of 22 Lancaster B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 7 July 2012

My husband and I stayed at King's Cottage for a much needed weekend away. This was our first experience at a B&B. Janis and Ann did a wonderful job of making us feel at home. They are very helpful and give the utmost attention to detail. Our breakfasts were delicious! We stayed in the Kings Room. The bed is very comfortable and the room is elegantly decorated. We had to go across the hall for our bathroom, but even this wasn't an issue for us. We were surprised at how quiet it was even though the inn was full. Needless to say, our experience was so pleasant that this won't be our last stay at a B&B. We look forward to returning to the King's Cottage in the future.

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for 7 nights. Janis and Ann have perfected the art of running a B&B and are the example that all others should follow. The home is nicely decorated and inviting. The living space downstairs allows you to relax and spend time chatting with the other guests. They have guest pantry with a small fridge (stocked with bottled water) that allowed us to stash some perishable items, along with an ice machine and glasses, and a basket of snacks. They served the most delicious breakfasts each morning with some of the best coffee I've had (it's locally roasted). They also had wonderful iced tea ( raspberry!) and something scruptious to snack on in the afternoons in the sun room.
Our room ( The Duchess) was spacious and the bed was so comfy I hated to get up in the morning. I even looked at the tag on the sheets so I could go buy some for myself. One thing we both really appreciated was their Flavia machine that was available 24/7. That allowed us to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee (or tea or cocoa), before the appointed hour for breakfast.
I can't say enough good things about how helpful both ladies were in providing dining suggestions, things to do, directions, arranging an evening visit with an Amish family, etc. Anything you asked, they had the answers. We very much enjoyed the Covered Bridge package they put together for us, with a picnic lunch, including a freshly baked loaf of bread, fruits, cheeses, and directions to some bridges that we probably would have missed because they are well away from the main roads.
If you are looking for a B&B in Lancaster, stop your search now and stay at the King's Cottage. You absolutely will be glad you did.

Whether you are here for business or a pleasurable getaway, this is the only place to stay. Fine accommodations accompanied by a warm welcome from the Innkeepers, Anne and Jan, make this a must destination. I have traveled extensively domestically and internationally. The King's Cottage Inn ranks among the best establishments which I have visited. As a repeat customer, I can recommend this lovely location without hesitation. You will not be disappointed. The most discerning customer will be pleasantly surprised. Enjoy!

Room Tip: There is no pool or fitness center, but the hosts will provide fitness information to local health e...

My husband and I stayed in the Majestic room to celebrate our anniversary/his birthday. The room was beautiful and very comfy. The whirlpool tub was heaven! With the Majestic room we had the option of having breakfast delivered to our room. We took advantage of this option and enjoyed a delicious cozy breakfast together. Ann and Janis are very knowledgeable about the Lancaster area. They made recommendations, gave us coupons, and mapped out the places we wanted to go. I highly recommend the inn if you are going to be in the Lancaster County area. We will definitely be back to enjoy the hospitality.

King's Cottage was an excellent choice for celebrating our 55th anniversary. The room accommodations were perfect in every way. Breakfasts were scrumptious with something different each morning. The afternoon times of relaxation, tea and goodies were a relief after a busy day of shopping and sightseeing. Janice and Ann were so helpful in making dining suggestions and pointing out local places of interest. One of the highlights was the arranged dinner in an Amish home. The home cooked meal was deliceous and the opportunity of a close up and personal visit to learn more of the local customs was a great experience. We highly recommend King's Cottage for your next trip to the Lancaster area.

Room Tip: We were in the Queen room, it is a corner roomin the southwest corner of the B&B.
