“consistently good pub”
Reviewed 31 December 2011

The ambiance is warm and pub like, great beer selections and attentive bartenders but can get a bit crowded evenings and weekends. Amazing fish and chips and quirky but upmarket pub fair. I hesitate to say gastro pub because that usually means mediocre pretentious food with microgreens thrown on, but they are definitely more upmarket in quality than you would expect. And if you ever want a truly destructive evening for your longterm health i whole heartily recommend the scotch eggs and Guinness. This place has what the Cork and Cap across the street tried for and missed.

“Great Pub feel, diverse draught beer selection, excellent food.”
Reviewed 31 December 2011

My girlfriend and I make the hour drive to Quip's frequently. Though small, the pub has a lot of character. Rustic wooden floors and beams, dim lights, and the decor are a nice change from a typical bar/restaurant.

After going to Quip's, I wonder why the British have such a bad reputation for food. The food is best described as comfort food, but with a progressive twist. My girlfriend loves the Bangers and Mash and Langostino Mac and Cheese. I love the Parsnip and Cabbage bake and the Homemade Gnocchi (no longer on the menu). Ask chef Ross and he might prepare it for you.

Overall, the restaurant is a great change of pace from the typical pubs in the area.

“Cozy and Delicious”
Reviewed 2 December 2011

A true authentic. This is an actual English Pub transplanted into American soil.

I love their french fries. They are completely homemade and you notice. They serve fish and chips in English newspaper, and their authenticity exudes from every floorboard.

There is a lot of hearty items on the menu. They do well with seafood, pastas, and English traditional fare.

I'm not a fan of their salad, but the beer selection makes up for their lack of salad prowess. Going to this pub is a diet sabotage. Great local bar has great ambiance and food; what more could you want?

“Delicious Food”
Reviewed 13 November 2011

Went with a very large group for dinner and most of us ended staying there to watch the last game of the World Series. Their fish and chips were excellent and they have a very nice selection of beers.

“Great drafts on tap”
Reviewed 10 November 2011

I figure this is about as close as you're going to get to a British pub in Lancaster city. It's easy to find. Just take the New Holland exit off Rt. 30 and drive towards the city. It's about 2-miles down the road, if that. I love the bar. It's a big square in the middle of the dining room and a staircase runs up the middle of it. Great beers on draft. All the usual British & Irish imports along with some good German beers and locals, like Stoudt's as well. They also have Magner's on tap. Yeah! We didn't get any food, but what was going past our noses looked delicious. We'll definitely go back for lunch or dinner.
