Owner description: See PA's first show cave. Discovered in 1871, and open to the public shortly thereafter, Crystal Cave has been operating without interruption since that time. The one hour cave tour begins with a video presentation describing the history of Crystal Cave and the formation of caves. Guides take you into the cave and give you both an educational and enjoyable tour. Crystal Cave is known for its abundance of formations in various size and color. Over five million adults and children have been thrilled by this subterranean museum of nature. After your tour you may want to visit our gift and souvenir shop, historical exhibit, authentic Amish Buggy, real Indian Totem Poles, and shaded picnic park all on 150 scenic acres. Other activities open seasonally include miniature golf, panning for gemstones, Ice Cream Parlor, Crystal Cave Cafe, and Museum.

What a beautiful cave, truly wonderful! This is a great place to take kids and see Earth's inner beauty. The climb to the cave is a hike, but worth it. The cave is very clean and easy to navigate the well lit paths. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. After visiting the cave there is a miniature golf course, a nature walk, a gift shop, and a place to eat. To get to this location is a bit of a hike and in the middle of nowhere, but relatively close to Allentown PA. Overall, this is a small cave, but really great to check out if you are in the Allentown/Bethlehem PA area.

This is a fault cave, meaning that at some time in the ancient past an earthquake broke the limestone apart and left a void underground. I enjoyed the guided tour. There is an extensive gift shop. The trip to get there through the beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch countryside is an added value.

Easy to get to with decent parking. The main attraction, the cave, is up several flights of steps on a steady incline. The guide did not seem interested in taking questions. He only asked for any at the very end by the exit. Dining on site with a museum and 'post' to buy souvenirs. I visited Lost River Caverns just before this, same day, and expected the same friendly and warm greetings and treatment throughout. This did not happen.

This is about our 4th cavern that we have been to and it just always takes your breath away how amazing nature is. Free parking staff was pleasant . It cost 50.00 dollars for my wife myself and my two children who are 8 and 9. Very reasonable . They have two gift shops an ice cream and food place mini golf ,nature trail picnic tables if you decide to bring your own food. Open for over a hundred years it is truly an amazing place .Walk up to cave was a little steep just so you are aware one side was stairs the other side was a paved walkway but just as steep. They show a movie about the history of the cave which was very cool all and all a really good way to burn a couple of hours if in the area

This was a terrific activity on a rainy Monday. We took our grandchildren here - ages 4 & 6. Both of them enjoyed it & listened well to the guide. We arrived in time for the first tour which was great since there were only 8 of us on the tour. There was a short hike up to the entrance of the cave. Inside in a few parts of the cave there are metal stairs. None of us had problems with them. The children did just fine. Bring a jacket too since the temperature in the cave is about 58 degrees even in the summer.
