Great experience with about 40-50 pelicans showing up for a feed that lasted about 10 minutes. We got there about 3pm and had front row seats. It was mid-week but still holiday season, so reasonably busy. One of my kids found it a bit scary as the birds can bump into you when pushing each other for a treat, and they are quite big. It is certainly up close and personal with the wings flapping and big beaks snapping in the air! The audience sits on a row of stairs so everyone has a good view. The volunteers are knowledgeable and kept everyone in control, even speaking in Japanese to some of the tourists who didn't realise they needed to be seated so that people behind them could see. They sell pelican soft toys in a show bag for $10 if you want to support the volunteers. My daughter is still talking about it.

If you're in the area around feeding time it's worth watching all the pelicans congregate and get fed. There's parking nearby.

One of the best place to go around Sydney. This is something unique that you will experience. The local will start feeding the pelican every day at 3 PM. so make sure you're in your seat around 2.30 to secure the best spot. you will see there is a limp pelican which only has one wing and he has lived for 15years. it took 3.5 hours by public transport from Sydney.

First hand experience about Pelican Feed. Daily at 3:30pm except Christmas Day.
However, you need to be there before 3pm to get a good seat.Volunteers will explain a bit about Pelican before and while during the feeding. Good activity for the whole family. May have close encounter with the Pelican and grab the opportunity to take photo with the Pelican standing beside you. However, if you have young children who may get scare by this big & lovely creature, you need to be cautious and to avoid close encounter with them.
