If you're looking for a lovely relaxing holiday, opposite a beautiful beach/bay, clear waters, lovely accommodation with restaurants and country club, close to Nelsons bay for a spot of shopping or coffee at a
cafe, then I highly recommend this place. Always love coming here.

I have travelled and stayed in Nelson Bay multiple times, being 2.5 hrs drive from Sydney, However, I would rate this accommodation to be the best value for money. The rooms are very neat and clean with modern well-equipped kitchen. It is very close to the beaches and not too far from the shopping centre, restaurants and all the tourist activities.
Nice outdoor settings and BBQ facilities to complement the indoor accommodation which is not commonly seen in most of the other places. You get one or the other.
Will definitely come back and stay here...Next time hopefully for longer duration in the hospitality of warm friendly staff!!!

We stayed for only one night in units 8 and 9 on the first floor. Unit 9 is the one bedroom with a queen in the main and twin beds in a alcove near the front door. The bedroom and lounge open onto a very large balcony which was lovely. Room 8 is a two bedroom with a queen in the main and twin beds in the second. A smaller balcony is accessed via the lounge and second bedroom. Both units were very well equipped, clean and the beds were very comfortable. These units are on the side street and were very quiet with no traffic noise. We walked into Nelson Bay for dinner at the marina which took about half an hour however the shops/restaurants at Shoal Bay are much closer. We would certainly stay again if in the area but we did notice that the whole block is currently for sale.

Room Tip: The units on the side street are quieter with no traffic noise.

Had a night here with my wife and three sons. Location is ok - easy to find however no beach views as with a few of the nearby establishments. Rooms were clean, bright and modern. We had a double room apartment on the first floor. Kids loved having their own shower room. Extremely nice touch was the Wii room with a huge projector screen and games for guest use. Sound insulation between rooms was not excellent as we could hear a lot of other activity from outside our rooms.

Stayed in #4 ground floor 2 bedroom apartment last week. Apartment is quite compact, has no fly screens (lots of mosquitos from the bushland opposite) and although each bedroom has a glass sliding door to the lovely patio area it can be directly accessed via a gate from the street so cannot be left open for fresh air due to security concerns. Apartment has one air conditioner in the lounge area, if you want to cool the bedrooms you will need to leave the bedroom doors open in the hope that, if you give up your privacy, some cool air will filter through to the bedrooms. The apartment is meant for four people but the lounge is not big enough to seat four. There is a small round dining table with 4 chairs, beds are very comfortable with quality sheets and doonas. Second bedroom is quite small, door from lounge opens directly onto bathroom door. Use the bbq and you are expected to have the gas container refilled.
Pool area is clean but very small. Previous comments about the size of the pool are totally justified, it is tiny. Kitchen was modern and most things one would need are supplied, full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine and drier. Location is a level walk from Shoal Bay shops, I would not want to walk it in the heat of summer. We were not there to swim but apparently one can walk through the bushland opposite to the beach.
Perhaps a higher floor would be better from a security point of view and the layout may be different in other apartments ... would not stay there again ... prefer to find something closer to shops & restaurants. The small, friendly Fishermans Club in Shoal Bay has good fish and chips, grab a table on the balcony and enjoy spectacular ocean views. Shoal Bay is a very pretty place and I will definitely go back.

Room Tip: If you decide to try these apartments, ask for higher floor. Management was very helpful in giving us a requested ground floor but security is a problem.
