The last night of our trip to Australia and we had the best meal of our three week trip. Attentive friendly staff. The food was superb. We all had different meals and we all ate everything on our plates.

Fabulous breakfast to start the day...sitting watching the world go by and enjoying watching people and boats at the marina. We had eggs and bacon and the toastie with avo and ham and lots of good coffee. We enjoyed it so much we returned for dinner. Chicken Parmigana which was declared to be " The best I have ever had" and Lamb Shanks which were cooked perfectly..falling off the bone. Dessert was Creme Brulee and Drunken Strawberries. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT HAVING DESSERT....a fantastic array of choices.
The service was friendly, helpful and efficient.
This restaurant has something for everyone. It was full, with locals and tourists all getting a warm welcome.

Could'nt have eaten at a more enticing establishment in the precinct. We had breakfast in this wonderful restaurant where we were rewarded with wonderful service and great value for money. Definately eating there upon my return someday. Dreamy views watching the action around the marina and surroundind waters.

We just finished dinner here tonight and it was easily the best meal we had in our three day holiday to Port Stephens.

We were two families of four adults and four kids. The kids meals were very generous portions (neither of the kids could finish the spaghetti bolognaise). The adults had spaghetti marinara, grilled whole bream, grilled barramundi with garlic prawns and prawn and mussel saganaki (I had the last one). All four dishes were very generously portioned and were absolutely delicious.

They also made sure the kids were served first and this was very much appreciated.

A young blond lady served us and she was fantastic in making sure to check back on us to make sure we had everything we needed and the food was OK.

Thank you for making this our memorable last dinner in Port Stephens.

We shared the bacon cheese bread to start with - served nice and hot but never of us like the bread it was served on. My husband had the moussaka .. He loved it ! I asked if they would do sizzling garlic prawns as a main , this came served in two sizzle pots with slices of dry bread , the prawns very small and served with sliced mushrooms in the pot wasn't worth the $34 charge for that meal. The staff extremely pleasant but didn't leave us alone till we ordered even from the moment we sat down, no chance to even look at the drink menu or the food, hence you feel rushed from the start.

Dear Madam, thank you for your response.
I would like to start from the service, first of all i know exactly were you sat as there was a discussion with the staff and myself regarding your rudeness. We have a house policy as soon as the customer is seated to ask them if they would like a drink (whether it be water or any other drink) you replied you are not ready yet in a rude manner. The waiter then spread the word to the rest of the staff as we always do, to leave you alone for awhile as you are not ready to order.
Another house policy we have is once a customer closes the menu, means they are ready to order. Your husband closed his menu and you were both chatting 10 minutes after the first approach. As the waitress was walking past she noticed the menu closed so asked politely if you were ready to order or if you needed a few more minutes. You rudely replied NO WE ARE NOT READY! but you wanted to order bread which you did (Obviously you were ready to order something) Again after the waitress took your bread order she passed the message to the rest of the staff that you were not quite ready to order your mains.
I advised my staff to leave you alone for another 10 minutes and try again to see if you were ready as we don't like to leave our customers thinking we have forgotten about them. (at this point you had already been seated for about half an hour) if you did not want to be disturbed and wanted an exact time to order you should have advised my staff that you would call us when your ready to order but you just kept saying no we are not ready very rudely.
After the bread had been served to you, we kindly asked again if you were ready to order and AGAIN you rudely said in a loud voice NO WE ARE NOT READY!! GIVE US ANOTHER 15 MINUTES. (Your husband i must say was a real gentleman)
You asked the staff if we could make Garlic Prawns for you even though it is not on the menu anymore as the government has put restrictions on certain prawns which is why we took it off the menu but we went out of our way to do this for you and knew the prawns were a bit smaller which is why we added EXTRA prawns for you. The bread that we serve is not dry at all it is crispy which is the way our customers like it. As for the cheese and bacon bread, we cannot have 1000 different types of breads to suit everyone, the menu clearly stated what type of bread the cheese and bacon will be served on so if you didn't like that type of bread then you should not have ordered it.
We serve thousands of customers every month but every so often we come across ones like you which can happen as you cant please everyone we just thank God that we don't get your kind often.
We are 4 brothers running the restaurant, between us we have 168 yrs of experience that means 42 yrs each in this industry, we have all owed restaurants in Sydney and in our earlier years have worked in top class restaurants so we can tell the difference between a customer and a customer. From the moment the first waiter approached you we knew you would be a difficult one and would not have been satisfied with anything. luckily your husband is a fair man and enjoyed the moussaka. Once more thank you for the review and i'm sure there are lots of other restaurants you can choose from on your next outing.
