What a magnificent House & grounds. Staff were excellent. Although a lot could be done to improve the ambience. We were upgraded to the Forest suite Ahh beautiful until close look. Dirty cream lounge, cushions not removed to vacuum, Bathroom very disappointed old patched up painted tiles, shower not over bath to allow free flow of water except all over the floor, toilet water flow not suitable. Spiderwebs everywhere obstructing free viewing of grounds. Outdoor cane lounge had to place a towel over broken cane to sit and listen to the beautiful bird life that abundance.
The restaurant was AMAZING! Food exceptional, restaurant staff very attentive and obliging. Our Massage was fabulous. Most of our weekend was on par and as expected, it was only the lack of cleaning and maintenance of the property that disappoints.

The estate is beautiful but the service is was very poor. They neglected to do some of the most basic things you would expect from a 5 star hotel (such as telling us the wifi password, checking if a complimentary upgrade was available (which resulted in us missing out), telling us the hours for breakfast and where to go for dining options, where the wellness centre was etc) which resulted in me having to ask on three separate occasions. There was also no in room guide, no air conditioning, and our strawberries and champagne was not provided upon arrival! On top of all that, the room is very dated and could use a major refurbishment. The chair was stained and saggy.
The gym had no air conditioning, no water or towels, the shower at the wellness centre also had no body wash.
Housekeeping didn’t do a thorough job because we found a used spoon in the tv cabinet and they didn’t replace the dirty glass we used, nor take away the wine cooler that was no longer being used. Lastly, the kettle in the room looked old and dirty, and the towel hook was loose. So many easy things they could do to improve the experience and elevate their service.
On the positive, the meals were delicious, the massage was very relaxing and the grounds are beautiful.

An enjoyable and relaxing experience. Amazing service, friendly and professional staff and one of the best fine dining experiences you can enjoy. The grounds and gardens beautiful, well maintained and relaxing. Greatly enjoyed having cocktails in front of the Fire Places in the middle of Australian Summer. On a negative note the room was not at 5 Stars or even 3 Stars standard. The bed was very uncomfortable, furniture old stained and in a very bad condition. Could not open windows due to spiders on the latches, windows looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months.
Overall a 5 Stars experience in a 3 Stars or less room.

5 star setting, 3 star hotel. Grounds are beautiful and in great location. Hotel looking very shabby, furniture stained and dirty, no wine glasses and minimum coffee in room. No air conditioning. Bathrooms old. Light shades full of dead flies. Needs a complete refurbishment. Such a shame as the building and the gardens are lovely. Would not recommend if you are expecting a 5 star hotel.

This is a lovely place - situated a 10 minute drive from Bowral in a lovely, peaceful rural setting. The hotel is a nice escape from busy Sydney and the gardens are STUNNING and the Weeping Beech Trees are amazing.

My only very slight negative comment is that they need some better signage to help easily find reception, restaurants (etc) and some of the furnishings in the common areas need a bit of an upgrade as they look a bit tired - but these are very minor things.

All hotel staff were very nice & friendly and our fancy dinner and breakfast the next day were fantastic. Quiet rooms, nice & clean.

Room tip: We had a top floor room; away from reception a little bit - very quiet
