Beautiful fully equipped family apartment in tiny village near Mawgan Porth and Watergate beaches. Ideal location for family holiday - 2 adults in double room and two kids in bunk room (I think there was a pullout underneath that too?) and one person in single room - possibly one on the lovely big sofa in living room?? . Rosie & Andrew perfect hosts - give you space to enjoy the surroundings but you know they're there if you need them. Pub with great menu literally steps away from the house so no need to drive. Mawgan Porth beach just two minute drive away north. Parking is about £3 per day but refundable at the local pub and coffee shop (Coasta Coffee - love it!) if you redeem before 4pm, which is a nice touch - invest in yourselves Mawgan Porth. Local store selling everything you could need - including hot Cornish pasties and sausage rolls - with friendly staff all within walking distance from beach. Toilets across main road from beach - have 20p pieces ready. Baby changing area on left as you go in. Crazy golf and pitch and put and lovely shops selling beachwear and souvenirs a-plenty. NOT commercialised. NOT stupid busy. Beach is MASSIVE. Go at 10am and stay til 6pm no problem. Lots of little walks and nice hilltop walk for the energetic too. First time in Cornwall but love to go back - hopefully to better weather. All the big supermarkets in nearby Newquay (10-15 min drive) for a fridge filler when you arrive. Cornwall airport a five minute drive away. We went to Lands End - about an hour's drive away. Had lovely day there. Leave early and spend the day. Lots to see for little ones up to age 10 I'd say. Nice restaurant there too but you could take packed lunch and make a day of it too. Also went to Seal Sanctuary near Helston. Roads for the last five miles of that journey are a bit hairy!. If you're going for a week to Cornwall why not go to Seal Sanctuary early on then you can return as tickets are valid seven days. It's about £45 for family ticket and only open til 4pm but worth it if you can return. It is on a BIG slope and only suitable for wheelchair/buggy users if you catch the on-site train. Watergate beach with Jamie Oliver's 15 restaurant just 2 minute drive south. Lots of apartments and looks a little more commercial but didn't have time to go there but looks really nice. All in all had great time at Kernow Trek Lodge. Great hosts. Beautiful sunsets. Cute Guinea Pigs. Amazing grapes! Would definitely recommend if you have high standards and like to meet friendly people. Thanks guys.

Room tip: Sand Castles Apartment has the most beautiful Sunset views ever!!

This is the first time we have stayed at Kernow Trek Lodge. Having visited Cornwall for many many years - this is a little Gem. The location is great - minutes away from Watergate Bay with the beautiful beach and restaurants there. Near to Mawgan Porth/Porth/Newquay and all they have to offer. Padstow/Wadebridge/Polzeath etc. are not a long drive. You can also easily visit St Agnes and explore that part of Cornwall. We stayed in Pebbles - the apartment was very well equipped and immaculately clean - it has everything you could possibly need. The bed was comfortable. The hosts, Rosie & Andrew were great company - we had the opportunity of spending a bit of time with them, and they are delightful and are keen to ensure your stay at Kernow Trek Lodge is a positive experience - we didn't need to ask for anything more, as we were already well catered for, but we are sure if there were any problems Rosie & Andrew would remedy them immediately. Lovely time - will be going back and recommending to our family and friends.

Room tip: Our room was lovely - it was very bright and quiet

My daughter and I enjoyed a lovely stay in the studio apartment, Pebble.
You couldn't ask for anything else when on a break - FULLY equipped kitchen, clean throughout the apartment with plenty of storage.
Andrew & Rosie were extremely helpful and were available for local information.
Would certainly return.

We are a family of four (5 year old and a baby) and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the lodge. The 3 bedroom apartment is extremely well-equipped and the rooms light and airy. The living space also has a partial sea view which looks spectacular at sundown. The garden area is colourful and cheery and the communal space has everything from board games to beach accessories for guests to borrow. The owners are the loveliest couple and were so helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend the lodge for families and will certainly stay again ourselves! Thank you for a lovely and memorable stay.

We stayed in the Studio room for 2 nights for my partners birthday. We were pleasantly surprised. Lovely light room with everything you need! Plenty of room for 2. The hosts are very welcoming and lovely. Only a 10 minute walk to join the coastal path to Newquay or Padstow. I'll definitely be staying again!!!
