This hotel has had a name change to the Fowey Valley and also a recent refurbishment. The room was well decorated and comfortable. Great bed. Best shower ever. As usual with hotels, drinks were very expensive so we went to the pubs instead. The breakfast came as part of our package and there was plenty of variety. Couldn't fault it. Staff were attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We'd highly recommend this hotel

Excellent location and easy to find. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and well presented. Restaurant and bar on location but there are a few places to go in the town of Lostwithiel.

Very good hotel, friendly staff, clean, warm room, lovely breakfast with lots of choice, lots of areas to visit locally, would book again if in the area. We did not eat in the hotel in the evenings so cannot comment, good variety of restaurants and pubs in town.

A friendly hotel not far from local attractions. Very dog friendly and they are more than happy for you to eat in the bar with your four legged friend. Food locally sourced and cooked to a high standard. Amir who is one of the staff is very attentive and makes the best liquor coffees. I would book again as lots of parking on site and the staff are so friendly

Sadly we were unable to have a newly refurbished room despite being willing to pay for an upgrade - for the sole reason we took our dog. This said the room given to us was clean although tired and did not detract from our stay overall. The staff are amazing, really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was hot and plentiful however the Evening Dinner surpassed expectation, even catering well for my vegetarian partner. Lovely touch putting a note and some treats in our room for the dog it made us feel most welcome despite the lack of upgrade. Would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel or returning at a later date.

Room tip: Don't take your dog if you want a refurbished room
