My Partner runs an Independent living housing scheme with Housing company, and we took our 'Peeps' out for the day to Bury Market. Lots of Bargains, the indoor fish and meat market is amazing. The little cafes are wonderful with lovely patrons, the strawberrys at a pound a punnet are so juicy, My 7 year old Lolli and her 2 friends ate them at the stall. It a very clean and friendly place and its like going on E-bay live, there is everything and anything for everybody. There is a very good shoping center with helpful staff and its spotless. We all (28) enjoyed it and all came back with a few bags of goodies each. We used a coach firm who are very pro, and seat belts. This is the third time we have been to Bury and it never dissapoints. We go at 10am on the coach and are setting off at 3pm and we are from Blackburn, 35 mins travel, and it seems to keep all ages happy.

This is a very good market with people coming from far and wide. It's nice to see a market flurish when so many are like ghost towns. You can buy a wide range of items from here, have a lovely breakfast in one of the many cafes, lunch in the local pubs and restaurants and have afternoon tea too. Bury is famous for their black puddings. This is not for me so I cant comment on them but they always seem to sell out, so that speaks for its self. Well done Bury, great market and shopping center!!

The market promotes itself as the leading traditional English market of its type in the country... although not a great market goer myself, I have little doubt that this is true. The vast variety of stalls in both the outdoor and the indoor market make a visit memorable, and it will be a rare visitor who goes away empty handed.

I travelled from Manchester by tram, £3.90 off peak return for the 25 minute journey on what was formerly a railway line. Do not queue up to buy a ticket at the station's ticket office; they are not sold there, and can only be bought from a machine on the platform. Unlike the Midlands Metro, tickets are not available on the tram itself. The market is a 5 minute walk from the tram terminus.

There are many options for most items normally sold in markets eg food, clothes etc, but one notable omission; there is no stall selling car accessories etc.

A number of small cafes are within the market; I can recommend Mrs Ogden's cafe, where I enjoyed a very tasty breakfast.

Few will be disappointed by a visit to Bury Market, and it is certainly worth half a day of your time for anyone visiting Bury, Manchester or any of the nearby areas. The fact that coach excursions are run to Bury for the market from as least as far away as the Midlands is a tribute to the quality of the shopping experience.

Fabulous indoor and outdoor stalls with a superb meat and fish market. Didn't have long enough to enjoy everything about this first class attraction. Parking was close by and very reasonable. Will definately be returning soon.
