Excellent accommodation .clean everything you need is there . Peaceful surroundings .plenty of wildlife to see while waiting for a bite. Barbel fishing very good .will stay again
Beautifully maintained garden on the banks of the River Severn. Birds can often be seen on the river and often come on to the garden. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and cosy. Lots of great walking in the area and interesting museums.
Just returned from 9 nights in Kootenay. Wonderful October weather meant we could walk some good sections of The Severn Way and North Worcestershire Walk. We used the car only once as there is a lovely walk to Bewdley from the lodge (beware of the nettles!).
Lots of fishing from the bottom of the garden with a good few barbel caught - ranging from 5lbs to 9 3/4 lbs.
One of the nicest things to do is to sit on the balcony then watch and listen.....the river, the birds on the garden feeders, the deer in the fields opposite and the beautiful sight and sounds of kingfishers on the river. Finally the wonderful sight, sound and smell of the steam trains passing directly behind on the Severn Valley Railway.
Easy access to local buses from Bewdley to Kidderminster and Stourport and the dog was welcome on the buses too.
Had two delicious meals in The Mug House. Merchants fish and chips highly recommended, fish cooked fresh to order. Bewdley Deli has some lovely goodies too.
We hope to return to Kootenay in the future.
