Breathtaking site. Highly recommended to visit this site, and walk along all the canyon. You need to activate your imagination to recognize all the mysterious figures.

I agree with ‘hidihidiho, true brit’ this is the same place as Kuga Grand Canyon. TripAdvisor you need to get your act together and consolidate these reviews. The problem may be due to The use of Chinese and Uyghur names in Xinjiang plus the use of old names at times. Quite confusing at times.
A spectacular narrow gorge cutting through red conglomerate rock with sides 30m high. It is a pity that some people do not use the toilets before entering thus despoiling the place with excrement and paper. Hence 4=good not 5=excellent.

Breath taking view, I feel like I am inside the USA national park. Still not many tourist so far, road are well paved. We made the stop at the site where there was big rocks blocking the road. It would take around 3 to 4 hours if you would like to complete the whole journey. Hire a local guide in case you want to complete the whole journey.

Actually this spot is the same as Kuqa Grand Canyon! For some reason the Trip Advisor site has this resort under two different names, but in fact they are one and the same place. I have reviewed the Grand Canyon before and will repeat my review here to save confusion.
Kuche Grand Canyon alias Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon should not be missed for any visitor to this part of Xinjiang. Actually the drive there is part of the experience as you weave through incredible landforms weathered from sandstone by wind and rain over centuries. Make sure you make this a day trip and find a taxi driver who is willing to stop along the way for the myriad photos you are sure to want to take. Once you get to the canyon itself, allow yourself at least three hours to do it justice. Weaving up the river bed for around five kilometres, if it is all open, and surrounded by towering woven shades of red sandstone you will feel yourself transported into a magical wonderland. Try to make it part of the taxi ride deal that you then visit the ancient buddhist caves on the way home...all makes for a great day out!!

Absolutely stunning...we traveled with Eldertreks Exotic Adventure Tour Group. Thanks to our great tour leader Claudio who ensured that we were completely satisfied with our time spent here. Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon is noted for its unique color and rock shapes. We spent a couple of hours wandering around the canyon floor exploring. It was a beautiful day for us so we were quite comfortable. We did need our jackets the further inward we went as it was coolish. The mysterious Tianshan Grand Canyon was formed by wind and rain over billions of years ago. The canyon is 5.5 kilometers long from east to west with an average depth of 1,600 meters. The reddish-brown mountains of the grand and rugged canyon are in different shapes. Gullies and trenches can be found everywhere. Some areas were wet so we had to be very careful not to slip and fall, also some places are too narrow to pass through. The peaks in the canyon are multicolored, with strange-shaped stone formations. We took so many stunning photos that will be treasured for a lifetime.

About 1:30 hour drive from Kuqa city. The landscape is quite nice on the way changing quite dramatically from the flat desert to the canyon. I visited on a Monday at 11am. It was quiet
