“nice room, poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2012

The room at the Wyndham Garden was very nice, updated, and remarkably quiet. The staff was not attentive. We waited at the front desk while the two people behind the desk ignored us and had a conversation about what shifts they had during the next couple of days. They seemed to think they were putting on an amusing performance for us, but we just wanted to check in. When we did get our room key we lugged our baggage upstairs to find that the room we'd been assigned was in the process of being cleaned. We carried our things back downstairs and got a key to another room. Once we got into the room we were relatively pleased with the finishes and the fact that there was a refrigerator. It was also remarkably quiet considering its proximity to the airport and I-95.
The vending area was a big frustration. The soda machine was not functioning properly and did not give me the right drink. When I went to the front desk one of the people who had been there the previous afternoon grudgingly gave me a refund. Then when trying to use the food vending machine, another person put money three times for a bag of chips. None of them dropped but were all stuck. Then on the fourth try, one bag dropped but got stuck on it's way down! This hotel needs to switch vending machine providers!
Our room was nicely updated but the lobby and the hallways were dated and dingy.

We stayed at this hotel overnight, prior to an early flight the next morning. Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was nice, but the blanket on the bed had old food on it and the toilet had not been cleaned. Price to park here for the duration of our trip and spend the night was reasonable. The shuttle driver dropped us at terminal A the next morning, even though he knew our airline was in terminal D. We had to walk to terminal D, which was a fairly long hike. I think he did this because he had people waiting at the hotel for a rid and wanted to get back. I may consider staying here again, but would need to explore other options.

We have stayed here many times in the past 2 years. We feel that the place is going down hill. Each visit seems to fail the Wyndham experience it promotes. Reading the other reviews and comparing them to our experiences is just so different. This is even after the remodel. Yes, the rooms look alittle better, but still. The attiutdes of the staff have fallen below satifactory. The Customer Service piece is not present. Pricing on the rooms are different online, through Wyndham reservations and when you call the front desk. Our most recent visit was 1 weeks ago. Only stayed 2 nights. Our luggage was clearly was rummaged through. Our clothing was moved around that was in the drawers, even our travel bags with our personal hygiene items in it was gone through. Thank goodness we locked up our costly items in the safe and left some things in the car. Who knows what would of happened if we left those items out in the open. Speaking with the shift Manager about this issue was clearly a task. There was no compassion or care of what I had to tell this person. I was given the name of the General Manager, and appartently this GM has not worked there in over a year according to the Maintenance Man (I think, he had some tools in his hands) I asked that passed me in the hallway. So, the staff member gave me incorrect information. Why? They covering up something? So, later that day I passed a few housekeeping members and asked them some questions about Management. They would not tell me who was in charge, but 2 out of the 3 mentioned that thing like this happen often and that it is just getting worse. So, I was not happy to hear that.
Then, there is the restaurant. Room service was good for breakfast and lunch. But going down for dinner is a differnt story. To have the staff in the restaruant to be so open on certain foods being rotten or out of date. So, needless to say we didn't eat dinner there. We actually drove over to The Philly Diner and had dinner there. Good eats!
So, upon check out we decided not to say anything and see if something was said no us. Maybe hoping the there were notes put in the computer. Of course nothing was said. So, on the drive home we spoke about the stay and issues we encountered and the roadblocks we hit. We decided not to even try to attempt to contact Upper Management and just put our experience on Trip Advisor hoping that people looking at the reviews actually take the time and read them. So, they wont experience the situations and issues we did.
For people who have had I good experience here, I'm happy for you, but this was just so shocking to us. To have this happen. We wont be staying here anymore. We will be looking for another hotel in the area. If anyone has any input on that please let us know.
Thanks

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the challenges that you faced during your stay and wish that you had demanded that the front desk get in touch with the Manager on Duty or the General Manager. Our hotel has never gone without a GM, so the information that your received was incorrect, and for that we do apologize. In regards to you feeling that someone went through your belongings, we wish you had brought this to the attention of management as this is a very serious accusation and we have not had any other incidents or reports such as yours. We provide our guests with a secure environment where they can feel safe and secure. Unfortunately you getting information from the front desk could make you feel the way you do, and therefore we implore you to contact our management team. 610 521 2400

Excellent value. Remodeled rooms and very clean. Beds are new and very comfortable. Would stay again... Much better than the Hilton airport hotel.

We got a great rate of $40 through Priceline, as we needed an airport hotel for an early morning flight. We arrived later in the evening and were given a king room on a high floor. The room was nice, seemed new and it was fine for the night. It featured an LG TV with HD channels, nice bathroom and decent king bed. I did not have time for the internet.

The problem on this evening was lots of police activity in the area. We saw no less than 4 police cars at the front door. I was told they were looking for a couple youths that possibly entered the hotel. I certainly wasn't expecting this for what was a quick stay here.

Later I dropped the car at the Express Park South, which was down the road. We saw several more police cars at the nearby diner and Comfort Inn. I highly recommend Express Park for leaving your car. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They gave us a ride back to the hotel. We were offered a similar rate to park at Windham, but their lot didn't seem nearly as secure.

In the end everything worked out. We just picked the wrong night I guess. I was somewhat disappointed the lounge closes early at 10 pm. The shuttle was right on time in the morning and we received swift, courteous service to the airport.
