Below expectation.

First time, in my travel life, had a terrible experience with WiFi. Staff has said, it was an isolated event, and I have no reason to doubt their statement. But for me as a traveller, it was extremely inconvenient and annoying not to have a proper internet considering the amount that I paid! Internet is one of the basic necessities, and I expect it to be available.

For a family suite, I wasn't priorly informed me that beautiful window view isn't available.

Road towards the destination isn't good, but that isn't the fault of the hotel. Nevertheless it created inconvenience to reach the destination.

Staff were friendly. And morning breakfast was very good. Also the view from the hotel lobby was beautiful.

Dear Mr George,

First of all thank you for your observations both positive and critical.

Being the person responsible I am duty bound to come up with explanations for your difficulties.

1. I guess you were the guest with an Iphone who could not log in to our high speed ( Yes ..Hi Speed ) WiFi net work . Well , after the complaint reached me I checked with the service provider and found that all Android devices ( who said android is a better OS any day ? ) and a dozen devices using ios were also connected to the system at that very moment. If they could why not your phone..? The reason might lie in settings I believe. The hotel can only provide the facility and we ''expect" people to carry the right equipment.

2. That our family suites do not have the spectacular valley view is made clear in the website.

3. The Road next to the hotel is quite new and well paved. You must be talking about roads some miles away. Of course, we are not in control of roads, rail, airports etc etc. I raise this point because we get blamed for practically anything under the Sun. Guests will do well to avoid mentioning unrelated issues on our page. Thank you.

Christmas stay

We arrived Christmas Eve and had the gala dinner. Lovely food but a bit quiet and would have liked a glass of wine or beer, but not a big deal. The pool is amazing; so warm with stunning views. The rooms are well appointed; lovely bed and bathroom. Tried the Mexican food on Christmas Day, again a beer with the enchilada would have gone down well, but the food and mocktails were great.

Great to read that you liked our Christmas Gala Dinner even without the beer and wine part. Also the rest of the stay. The efforts to obtain this missing licence is on a (Trojan) war footing , trust me. The next time you step in to the Panoramic Getaway everything will be in place and the drinks on the house.

Pros:
- Views from the room were magnificent.
- Heated pools and roof top infinity pool was amazing
- checkin staff Ariya was amazing and engaging.
- accommodated us by opening the gym earlier at 5:30am.

Cons:
- Christmas gala dinner was only average and not value for the money charged
- Food quality and service in comparison to several other hotels we have stayed in this trip is below average
- On booking, Requested 1 room with 2 beds and the it was not provided on arrival. We had to raise the issue and it was eventually rectified by Jansi at front desk and provided a rollaway bed.
- Staff overall need to provide service with a smile like Ariya. Some corporate training is recommenced.

Room tip: Rooms 305 and 306 are great views facing the mountains.

Happy New Year..

Thanks for the detailed review . I am happy to see that we met your expectations in the vital departments and unfortunately few things did not go as per your liking. I will personally communicate to Arya & Jancy your appreciation of handling the situation well. Others would be advised to learn from them.

Let's now move to your concerns. Chiefly there are two.

1. Quality of food.

I beg to differ here because this is one area we are most insistent. Extra miles are traveled , elaborate arrangements are made just to source the right stuff from the right places. After the herculean effort it is disappointing to see a loose comment made by you. Try and provide the same -inside out- and you will know what it takes.

2. Value for money on food

Our Christmas Gala Dinner had a buffet menu spread over 2 pages , over 25 items and among them 6 non-Veg including Roast Turkey, Chicken Lasagnia etc in 5 star Ambiance , all for Rs 1500/- per person is not value for money..it's a STEAL. That is equal to $20 and you wouldn't get a decent burger and coffee in most cities of the world for this amount... ! Know this..you are lucky to be here.

Makes sense to grab a meal at Foodsense!

We were searching for a nice restaurant for lunch in Munnar and came across Foodsense, a multi cuisine restaurant at The Panoramic Getaway. The ambience was lovely with tasteful decor. We had typical Kerala cuisine - Prawn Curry, Kerala Veg Stew, Appams and Tomato Rice. The portions were large and the taste exquisite. It was a no-rush, relaxing lunch with staff that were warm and friendly. If one is staying in Munnar for a few days, a meal at this restaurant is highly recommended. The cost is only slightly high but totally worth it!!

Glad to read about your visit to our FOODSENSE restaurant. Your description of the items ordered I am sure will come in handy to future connoisseurs visiting the place. We have another specialty restaurant called UNDERGROUND, laid out in a very different manner. You are welcome to try that on your next visit.

Overall stay and dining at the Panoramic make perfect sense.

Very tasty meal

We had lunch in the underground restaurant at the Panoramic Gateway. A little pricey by Munnar prices but very delicious and well presented. While the restaurant has an extensive mocktail list it does not serve beer or wine. A little disappointing.n

Dear Mr Steve,

Thank you very much for dropping by our UNDERGROUND restaurant and for your feedback. As you would have experienced the place is set for international clientele and so everything including the prices tend to follow that pattern. We are working on obtaining the required licence to serve liquor but for now alcohol free beer is the best available option.
