I don't normally post reviews this soon after getting back from a trip but its still fresh in my mind and I am happy to report this was a great place to stay over the first part of Labor Day weekend. Checked in with my husband on Thursday afternoon and let them know it was our tenth wedding anniversary when I made the reservations a few weeks earlier. The woman on the phone was kind enough to add in a bottle of wine and a box of chocolate truffles for us that was waiting for us in the suite when we checked in complete with wine glasses and corkscrew. Check-in was fast and pleasant and our suite was absolutely beautiful. We had the studio suite with whirlpool and fireplace. room 308-right next to elevators but we barely heard any noise from the hallway the entire stay even though this was a Holiday weekend. We had a stunning view of the Amish Farm with fresh corn growing on the premises and a little schoolhouse where we saw little Amish kids walking to in the mornings.(See photos)
Our room was convenient with a little kitchenette and big roomy shower. The whirlpool was very spacious and a lot of fun to use. We didnt make use of the fireplace because the evenings were too warm but it looked like a nice one with a switch to turn on and off. The only reason I didn't give the hotel the 5th star is the TV in the room was very small and outdated. It had a dvd player and we did bring dvds to watch but the volume on the TV was so low we could barely hear the show playing over the a.c. in the room. Also, the king bed was comfy and pretty with a nice canopy but it was obviously old because it squeaked pretty loudly while we slept at night. so my only suggestion to this wonderful establishment is they get more updated beds and larger flat screen tv sets with speaker sound.
A yummy breakfast was included in the room price each morning and they served anything you could possibly want. made to order waffles and omelettes. cereals, breads, sausage, bacon, potatoes and quiche. They also served coffee and juices as well as a fantastic cappuccino/hot chocolate machine. By the way the cappuccino, hot chocolate and coffees are available 24 hours per day! we definitely took advantage of that especially at night after a long day out shopping, it was nice to sit on the couch in the Great Room and relax with a cup of coffee or cappuccino and play a board game or watch TV. they even had fresh baked m&m cookies out every afternoon as well.
We plan on returning to this hotel again, probably in the Winter with our 8 year old. There were a lot of families there with kids but yet we also felt like it was a nice couples only trip for us too.
