“An outstanding RV park in a beautiful location!”
Reviewed 14 November 2007

This is a large, modern well designed RV park with a waterfront location, and I consider it one of the nicest parks in Oregon. Everything here is top-notch, new and sparkling clean. The management is very friendly and efficient. Cell phone reception is hit-n-miss here, due to the hills on the south and west.

No ATV's are allowed in the park, and it is well back from the road so it is very quiet. There are paved walking paths all around with lovely views. This park has a playground, but most of the people staying here are older couples.

The sites are large with nice lawns, and surprisingly they all have fire pits. There are two "double sites" which hold two RV's each, so if you have friends together they can be in one site. The waterfront sites are right on the bay, and there are gorgeous sunsets. Roads and sites are paved, so there is no mud in the winter!

The restrooms, showers and laundry are are all very nice. However, the showers have low water pressure, and have automatic temperature controls, so if you like a *hot* shower, you are out of luck. They also turn on by pressing a button, which you have to re-press once per minute. That can get irritating during a 15 minute shower!

This park does have some long-term live-ins, but they tend to be retired folks, so there is no "commute" traffic through the park, and everything is very tidy and neat.

The small town of Winchester Bay is close enough to ride a bicycle to, and has several restaurants, grocery stores and shops. And at night, make sure you drive up the hill to the Umpqua River lighthouse. The red and white lights reflecting off the surrounding hills provide a fascinating light show!
