We went for Labor Day weekend with our dog and got a great deal the room isn't the biggest but we were really only there to shower and sleep and the big factor that they allow dogs is awesome!!! I got to bring my pitbull which of course nothing happened. It was close to the beach and everything else. For our first time staying at the coast as a couple we had a blast

My family was on a road trip and stayed here for the night. We had our little one (2 months old) with us and right when we got into the room, I was not happy with the quality, but stayed anyway for convenience and price. Before going to bed, saw a bug, tried to kill it and it jumped!!! Thought it was just one bug from the beach, but in the middle of night while I was feeding my baby, saw more fleas and had to get out of there..could not chance getting my baby bitten by fleas. This was 2 am in the morning, we drove to our next destination. When we got out of the room, I saw 10+ bites on my arms, legs, everywhere! My baby also had a bite on her tummy, which thankfully didn't bother her too much. It's been three weeks and I still have scars from the bites... They were so itchy...ruined many hours of our road trip.

I called the Inn the next morning and told them the situation, and at first the manager kept asking if we have dogs. After several times telling her we don't have any dogs with us, she said she is going to call the owner and see what they can do. They apologized and said they are going to refund us the money, but even after calling them several times about the refund, we still have not yet received our money back from the night. The manager confirmed that there were fleas in the room and that they must have just hatched!!!

I will not be going back to this Inn even if they give us free nights. This is my first ever review on tripadvisor and my family travels a lot! I wouldn't be writing this review if they gave us our refund, but it doesn't seem like that's happening (will update if they do).

We are so sorry about your bad experience. The room you have stayed in is a pet friendly room. The folks that stayed before you did have a dog and unfortunately it infested the room. We do bomb our pet friendly as well as our unpet friendly rooms once per month for fleas. It is unfortunate that one persons pet can cause another renter to have such a bad experience. We did refund the stay and cannot apologize enough.

The motel is older but has recently been updated there's big screen tv's small refrigerators, microwaves and Wi-Fi in the rooms. The parking is excellent we didn't need to use the car everything's within walking distance, whatever others complained about was made up with the location which is amazing, close to anything you would want to do, the beach is only 2 blocks as is the aquarium and shopping and restaurant's. We enjoyed our stay and would
Stay again.

Room tip: The rooms on the back are quieter!!

My husband, dog, and I booked a room at Surfside because it was the only place with availability three weeks before the 4th of July holiday weekend. We feel we lucked out (despite the inflated holiday rate - can't blame 'em) because Seaside's 4th of July fireworks are billed as the biggest on the OR coast, and the cars still at a standstill at 2 a.m. proved them right. Do NOT drive into Seaside on the 4th of July unless you have a place to stay - you'll never get out.

About the Surfside: it's a dinky little motel with small rooms, but the rooms were recently renovated and actually look quite nice. There's no daily room service, but the VERY nice manager will provide anything you need if you simply ask. The two block walk to the promenade is key - EXCELLENT proximity to the beach and restaurants on Broadway. The beds make a creaking sound when you sit on them or roll over - a bit annoying, but they're comfortable enough. We appreciated the free wireless internet access, ceiling fan, and mini 'fridge. Walls are thin, so you can hear activity in the room behind you.

Note to the owner: an additional mirror in the bedroom area would be helpful when one person is using the bathroom (and it'd make the space feel a little larger, too - bonus!).

This motel was booked online & oh boy what a mistake!
Seaside itself has seen better days as have many one time popular resorts, but this place was unappealing from the moment we arrived. Sadly its in quite a run down area and the motel itself has tiny rooms on the ground floor (some with no curtains) & dubious locals.
Needless to say we were glad to leave after one night.

Room tip: Don't go there!
