“The pictures don't do it justice”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed at this house right on the beach (up on a kind of cliff overlooking the ocean) for three nights the first week of August 2015. From the pictures and description online it almost seemed too good to be true, and I was concerned there was going to be some kind of significant letdown once we actually arrived. No worries. This place was great. This was a homerun!

We had a Malamute/White German Shepherd, and he had a ball. He loved the beach, running in the ocean, all that stuff. Dennis Moore does have signs asking that you keep your dog off of the furniture and the bed, and that makes lots of sense. He has "pet sheets" for you to use to protect the bed if you leave your dog while you go out. We never left ours alone, as he would have had a lot of separation anxiety. Besides, most of the fun was taking him for walks in/near the ocean.

The house is great. Well-appointed kitchen. Lots of condiments, lots of food left over by others. Bring your own food and drinks, etc., but don't be surprised if there's a fair amount of other food there already in the cupboards. No gas grill, but there is a charcoal grill.
When we were there, there was already some charcoal there.

The pictures are legit, but if anything, don't do the house and the views justice. We brought a friend to accompany our son, and when he walked in to the house upon our arrival said, "Thank you for bringing me on your vacation!" The views are fantastic. This house was great, and we're already thinking about when we can get back again (we live in MN).

“If you love the ocean, you will LOVE this home!”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This home is all about the views - expansive windows in the living room and master bedroom allow you to watch the ocean tides come and go 24/7. The day we arrived was overcast and the grey ocean with white caps was mesmerizing. Sitting in the two comfortable chairs by the LR windows, the view appeared as a black and white movie.

This home has everything - just bring your clothes and food. We appreciated the oversized single garage (you won't find that at a hotel). Enjoy the thick, soft towels, Egyptian cotton sheets (they feel so silky), the large jetted tub (with ocean views), comfortable bed (with ocean views), nicely furnished kitchen with flat cooktop with pop-up vent (very cool!), great deck with see-through railings, stereo with sound system in the ceiling in both LR and MBD, awesome fireplace (really puts out the heat on cool nights). It was cool the week we were there (June) and we didn't realize for a day that there is a thermostat in every room for individual heating of each room. I could go on and on. This home is luxurious - the photos don't do it justice.

The property is easy to find (the owner emails you a good map), with easy access to highway 101 (you don't ever hear the traffic). It's located in a small neighborhood but is very private. There are no neighbors on the ocean side and you can't even see the houses next door from the west side. It's a very quiet neighborhood - we never saw one person during our whole visit.

I don't know what the weather is like in that part of Oregon all the time, but in our 5 days we had overcast days and not-a-cloud-in-the-sky days. My only request for the owner is some blinds in the bedroom like the ones in the living room. On sunny days the western sun is intense even up to 8:30 or 9:00 p.m. and it helps to close the blinds for a bit, then open them for the night so you can watch the tide come in (love that!).

Dennis is great to work with. He made the whole process very easy and everything was exactly as stated and expected.

“Mini Vacation”
Reviewed 18 December 2013 for a stay in June 2013

What a delight to take my brother from New Hampshire here to enjoy our beautiful coast. We even saw whales! We have lovely comfortable surroundings, far beyond our expectations for a seaside home. The home is outfitted with everything you could ever want or need for a mini vacation. The walk to the beach is easy. The beach is lovely and views are excellent.

“Perfect house for couples with children”

We just spent two nights here over Memorial Day weekend. This house was perfect for my wife, 2 year old son & our small dog. The house is up on a small bluff overlooking the beach but we had our own path with stairs going down to the beach. It was quite secluded for such a busy weekend. We never saw more than 3-4 people on the beach at any one time - most of them where fisherman or people looking for clams. That area of the beach has bedrock coming up in small areas of the beach so when the tide went out you could look at the starfish & other little creatures living on the rocks.

The views from the master bathroom, bedroom and living room where great. The sunset was phenomenal. They must have just remodeled because everything looked brand new. The house was wired with speakers so you could listen to music from any room. The deck could be accessed from the living room or bedroom. We stay at a lot of vacation rentals (4-5 per year) and this one was was better equipped than most of them - especially the kitchen. It seemed every room had a separate thermostat & heater but we quickly learned you really only need the one in the living room at night.
