They reason for our visit our dad has stage 4 cancer,so we picked comfort inn as we always get great family service.but not this time. They said they had no rooms and couldn't find our reservation,Show them confirmation number and said we have 1 room left 3rd floor next to elevator ,it ran all night, they checked our room out to someone else,at 11:30 they used there key to try and get in,at 12 midnight the desk clerk called and acted like we were not supposed to be in that room.needless to say our already stressful trip was even more so now,and we did not sleep the rest of the night, the next morning we asked to talk to the manager JoeSue she was very apologetic we told her we would like another room of which she arranged to do right away,I expected her to offer some type of discount, she did not,so I said my sister should get some discount for such a stressful night, which she said she would have to check with the GM.but the GM showed no concern for our bad experience only allowed her to take the room tax off for our first nights stay $12.00,I realize her hands were tied and it's not the money as much as the GM general lack of care for the guests overall experience ,although I have talked to several business there in Salam about our experience many of whom said they were quite shocked that we were not Given our first night free, the barista at Starbucks was so saddened by our experience she gave me my drink free and said not all Oregon is like that. I will still stay at comfor Inn,BUT never the one on Freeway Ct in Salam OR,the GM who was there did not even come out to apologize.

We stay at this location every November for a youth lectureship we attend at a Salem church. The rooms are always clean, breakfast is decent. The only downsides are that they could use a few more luggage carts and they don't seem to do anything when you complain about high school sports teams running and screaming in the halls. Of course, it would be great if the coaches held their students to higher expectations of behavior when representing their school on the road, but that's a society issue, not the fault of the hotel.

Our stay was with no problems. This location is just Ok. It is a tired property and needs attention. There was a storage trailer in the lot and the laundry room was closed for remodeling? So maybe something is happening. They had plastic chairs and tables in the lobby? I guess for a big breakfast crowd? The carpet was very old and dirty throughout.
Finally, it is too bad that hotels raise their prices over 40% on college football weekends.

Room Tip: Freeway is on one side, so request the other.

Appreciated the upgrade from king bed to king bed suite (diamond club member). Fast checkin and out. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Spacious, clean king bed room. Comfortable bed and pillows. We liked the vanity separate from the bathroom. Convenient to the interstate.

After an exhausting day at Mount Rainer, we were lucky enough to find a room here. They were in the process of remodeling the lobby but it was still nice. Room was clean and breakfast was nice. Always have good luck with Comfort Inn & Suites.
