Description: Andina draws inspiration from the native culinary traditions of Peru, as well as from the contemporary cooking by some of Peru’s leading chefs. Owner Doris Rodriguez de Platt, collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and Novo-Andean cuisines. The kitchen sources native and local ingredients to create dishes at once traditionally rooted and personally inspired. Founded in 2003, Andina emerged as one of the region’s leading Peruvian restaurants and continues to generate wide appeal within the food communities in and around Portland, and much further afield.

Food and Service were amazing. We had the lamb and fish. Presentation was beautiful and the taste was superb. For desert, I had the cannoli that was served with a mango sorbet and Peruvian hot chocolate with some liquor. Wow! I highly recommend going here when in Portland.

We were fortunate enough to stop here for after dinner drinks. The live music and incredible drink selection was the perfect choice. Hallie, Ceasar, and Daniel really made our evening special. These seasoned bartenders were impressive to watch and personable to boot! We will definitely come back as a direct result of the service from these three professionals.

Will come back to portland just for this restaurant. Amazing service, spectacular food. Must try the octopus even if you think you wont like it.

1. Make a reservation as we did. You eat in the basement and can actually hear each other. For the young set that likes loud, sit upstairs!
2. Once seated, our very well trained waiter told us about the restaurant and the various dishes.
3. On his recommendation, we started with spinach empanadas - great taste! The main courses were a great lamb shank, and a quinoa covered serving of scallops. We both had roasted asparagus as our side vegetable. Finished with dulce de leche. Best meal we had in Oregon.

Excellent variety of dishes, excellent service. I have been many times over the years and believe the tables are closer and noisier this year (thus lost a star). You often need to make reservations more than a week ahead. I recommend having dishes in the bar. Love their piso sours!
