Description: Seres Restaurant, formally Sungari Pearl is located in the Pearl District and has been serving the greater Portland area since 2003. Seres Restaurant features a modern Chinese menu with emphasis on purity. In addition to using organic produce whenever possible, Seres' dishes feature local ingredients such as Oregon's Painted Hills Natural Beef, local produce and beancurd from Portland's own OTA Tofu Company. No MSG or artificial additives are added to our dishes. Essentially, you will still find every traditional long-loved Chinese food like fried rice, potstickers or Kung Pao chicken at Seres, however with a lightness and purity that are not only delicious but important.

We walked in on a Sunday evening without reservations and they were able to find us a table for 6 fairly quickly. The service was gracious and food delicious as always. The flavors are muted and subtle, not extremely sweet or extremely salty as one would see in a takeout Chinese restaurant. The dining room is lovely and not too noisy which is a real plus compared to most restaurants these days. The price is upscale also they do have to pay Pearl area rent. Not a daily place but nice for more of a celebration or a place to go with out of towners.

Tuesday nights are not busy here at this restaurant in the Pearl District. They had ample tables available. Service was good and the food was great. They seem to do a lot of take-out orders to local residents, keeping the kitchen staff busy. Their full bar is well stocked. We ordered the seafood Lo Mein, one of the best I have had, pot stickers and stir-fried mushrooms with spinach. Portions were large, so it's easy to share or take some home. A good place to meet friends for dinner and conversation.

lukewarm food and service. Odd smell in restaurant when we arrived, not pleasant. our soup and entrees were only warm, the moo shu pancakes were tough, the service was spotty. Obviously much better choices in Portland, we won’t return

Great Chinese restaurant - we live around the corner and eat there on a regular basis, in fact just returned from there tonight March 30, and thought that a "shout out" was in order for our local Chinese. Excellent menu with Happy Hour offerings certainly worth a look!
We normally sit at a table in the bar area - guaranteed Chinese food of the highest order, plus superb service from Robert and Patrick!
Good food and service, value for money - well worth a visit.

The website clearly states that lunch specials are Monday through Saturday from 11 to 3. However when we came on a Saturday we were told that they would not honor what was posted on the website and that lunch prices are only Monday through Friday.

I will agree that it was nice and quiet and the food was fine. No menu in Chinese.

We had a lamb curry, and the tang tang which basically was a peanut sauce on the noodles, garlic eggplant was the best dish that we had. There was an extra charge for a very small amount of rice

I am so sorry for your experience, and thank you for your feedback. We do have lunch on Saturdays, and I am truly sorry that you were told otherwise. Aside from that, it is against our policy to deny a customer's request for a lunch or happy hour menu, regardless of time or day.

Thank you for giving us the feedback so that we can go over this policy again with everyone on our team. We hope you give us another opportunity to serve you again. If you do, please ask for Sunny or Robert so that we can send you a complimentary appetizer.
