It's pretty interesting to see in google maps a small block that's filled by this garden surrounded by a bunch of grey buildings. It's an interesting visit for sure especially if you haven't seen been to many Chinese cultured tourist spots but if you have, you probably won't be too excited to see it.

I've seen cemeteries in California that are larger and more decorated. Not to put this place down or anything, but you can probably be okay not seeing it if you've already been enlightened by some more popular Chinese spots.

Tickets are fairly cheap, but expect to be here for 30 minutes or less (Unless there's an event going on).

Thank Ryan T

There is a 10 usd entry price, pretty but not amazing, maybe for 5. Some.plants and buildings and a gift shop in the end. Ok if bored, but not worth it if you have been in China

Only a block in size, as you meander along the paths, you forget you are in the middle of a city. A lovely escape, this is a charming garden.

As has been said, this beautiful garden is well worth visiting. We were there in January so not an explosion of color but still much to experience. Our visit was greatly enhanced by our tour guide who explained the significance of the garden elements: everything from the patterns beneath your feet to the play of shadows and light. So much thought went into everything you see; I feel I got quite an education! The stories behind the poetry on the walls and unique "downspouts" were very cool. We walked here from our hotel through a less than stellar area so give thought to when you go. Nice little gift shop, too.

One of the cultural prides of downtown Portand is the Lan Su Chinese Garden, built brick-by-brick from the original in China. A quiet peaceful place of water, gardens and architecture that celebrate solitude and reflection.
