Walked through the park, and it was incredibly pretty with colorful spring blooms. The bathroom that I went into was clean, and the park was, as well.

The roses were not in bloom when I was there, but the park was still nice to walk through (and free). I also went to the Japanese garden, which is lovely and worth the price of admission. The café in the garden is a very traditional tea house, I really enjoyed it but it is not "hearty" food by American standards, but was perfect for a light lunch. Great views of Mt Hood from the park. I happened to go on a lovely sunny cool day; it would be tough on a rainy day as there is little shelter.

Large, beautiful park with lots of hiking trails. Feels like you are in the wilderness amidst a concrete jungle. Gorgeous in both the summer and the winter. We came on a hot day in the summer and a rainy day in the early spring, and both were lovely. Lots of wonderful species of plants and birds, perfect for this nature-loving mama!

Luckily Washington Park has a stop along the light rail because we didn't have a car. The stop lets you out right by the zoo. There are a few sites to see around the zoo but you can take the bus to go to other parts of the park. The shuttle bus wasn't running on weekdays during our visit but we were able to take the 63 city bus which took us near the rose garden/Japanese tea garden area where we got off and walked around.

Beautiful park. If we had more time and/or access to a car we could have seen more. We'll probably have to come back on another visit. Great way to experience the natural beauty of Portland.

a beautiful and peaceful refuge in side the city. The rose garden is exceptionally beautiful in the spring but the park is a lovely place to enjoy year round.
