Email promotion offered stay two nights and get one free. no details. After many inquiries I found out that to qualify the stay had to be on two SEPARATE nights and the third night has to be booked on-line for yet another night. We stayed two consecutive nights so didn't qualify for the offer. The motel was under construction. No mention of that. The motel needs new mattresses

Thank you so much for your response. La Quinta is not running a promotion of this kind. Choice Hotels is running a promotion "Receive a third night free, at a Choice hotel, after two SEPARATE Stays." We can see how easy it would be to get this promotion confused with other franchises. Had a great stay rooms were super clean and the staff was very friendly. Would absolutely stay here again. Hot breakfast was very good. The only downside was the very small breakfast room though if you go early this is not much of an issue

By the time we reached the La Quinta Inn in Newport, Oregon, following a drive up the Oregon coast from Crescent City, it was our 4th hotel in 4 nights. We were tired. Things did not look good when we entered the lobby and were surprised to see the hotel being remodeled. We were assured the first-floor room had new furniture. After dinner at a local pizzeria (see my review of Cobblestone Pizza), we crashed for the night in a wonderfully comfortable bed. The next morning, we headed to the complementary breakfast where we met the Chaos Crowd. Since the breakfast area overflow rooms were under renovation, the room was crowded with tables, chairs, and people with little room to move. Breakfast goers stood in front of the waffle maker or near the coffee, totally blocking any movement along the perimeter; adults and children who sat at the tables made navigation next to impossible. We found a small table near the window, eventually made it with our plates, and quickly ate. At one point, I counted 30 people squeezed into this small space. Meanwhile, the ladies responsible for cleanup and food replenishment did a terrific job in trying to keep things moving; afterwards I complemented them on their heroic efforts and recognized that it was due to the remodeling. I also spoke with a lady in the maintenance department (also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan) and mentioned the comfortable bed; this got a high-five as it was recently installed. All said, the bed and good night's sleep made up for a hotel in transition.

Wow such a nice review of the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Newport despite our being under renovation, we are so glad you chose to share with us and so pleased you enjoyed the bed. I do apologize that breakfast was chaotic but with the new renovations to the hotel reception areas where we serve breakfast that will be alleviated. So please come back and visit us when you come back through Newport, Oregon and enjoy our renovation as well as our comfy beds.

Hotel is under construction. Fitness room maintenance is poor. I may not stay in this hotel any more in the future. Breakfast is sucks, and there is not enough table for guests to sit in. I have to wait for more than 10 mins before sit down.

Thank you for your review. We are under renovation and are working on expanding our breakfast seating area. I am so sorry that you had to wait to find a seat. We will definitely have maintenance check out the equipment in the fitness area and appreciate you bringing that to our attention. We are working very hard on getting the renovations completed as soon as possible and we are very conscientious to make sure this process is not an inconvenience to our guests! Hopefully, you will give us another try and you will love our new breakfast, fitness room and remodel when it is finished!

We started off with problems trying to change our reservation. They have a ONE YEAR cancellation policy. We arrived to a building in full blown remodeling. Our first room was full of pot smoke and the cleaning lady was in the elevator laid over her cart moaning and coughing. Our second room had a dirty wash cloth over the towel rod. There was dog pee and poop in the elevator. We knew it was a “pet friendly” hotel but were unaware we’d be staying in a kennel. There were more dogs than people.

Thank you for your comments. I apologize for any confusion as we have never had a One Year cancellation policy. We are indeed remodeling and are working as quickly as possible to complete the project. At the same time, we are very conscientious of our guests and go above and beyond to make sure that they are not inconvenienced by this. I will definitely talk with housekeeping in regards to an ill employee as I am not aware of this. I am so sorry that the elevator was in the condition in which you found it. No guest should have to see that and we will communicate better with staff to insure that all areas of the hotel are monitored for this sort of thing. La Quinta is a pet friendly company; however, what you found is not typical for our hotel. We do hope that you will come back again so that you can see our wonderful renovation.
