Website makes cabins look like they are alone but for a couple of RV sites (overhead view). The parking lot which we were directly facing (Cabin 15) looks like a nice little empty space, not a dusty thoroughfare. The area inside the circle of cabins does not look like a Lollapalooza situation crammed with tents and trailers that comes right up to the back of cabin. The campfire smoke filled our room, which was great since we both have asthma. Neighbors all around were loud. Cabin was dirty; coffeepot full of somebody's old coffee. I give this 2 stars instead of 1 b/c scenery is so pretty and we enjoyed sitting on the lodge patio eating lunch. Restaurant staff were kind. Food was good. But on Saturday the day-users flooded the area, reserving all the boats and the entire restaurant for the entire day. The cabin was hot and depressing. If this had cost $100/nt I wouldn't have expected tranquility or even cleanliness. But we were paying $600 for 2 nights - more than we paid for a deluxe 4 room suite at the Sheraton in Kauai overlooking the ocean! We had the sense that the owners were trying to squeeze every dollar out of the lake that they could. There's something very deceptive about not metioning that your cabin is sandwiched between a raucous, stuffed, smoky campground and a loud, dusty parking lot and then charging as if it is tranquil and lakeside. We left after the first night, forfeiting our money for the second, simply because absolutely nothing we came for was happening and we figured we'd be less miserable driving 6 hours home. If you want to bring your own toys for $5 and fight off the masses, go for it. Otherwise, consider yourself warned against one of the biggest ripoffs I've seen in 25 years of traveling.
