You'll Want To Retire Here

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Nov 2012
We spent five glorious nights in the two-bedroom Stoneycrest Cottage at Red Ridge Farms. What beautiful views, with a deck just made for sipping the wines you've bought during the day. You'll really want to stay here for good. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there was ample room for a 9-person dinner party. The cottage is completely private, but the owners and staff are not far away if you need anything. Great price included daily cleaning and all taxes. Why would you stay at a hotel, or even a B&B, when you could have all of this space? Don't miss the olive oil tasting and wine tasting! We would go here again in a heartbeat.

The guest suite ranks as one of our all time favorite accommodations. It rivals places we have stayed in Napa, but at a better price. It is sparkling clean and I loved the lingering fresh scent of lavender throughout the premise. A wonderful place to unwind and replenish the soul.

Red Ridge Farm offers a 1 bedroom apartment and a 2 bedroom cottage. We've stayed in both and highly recommend them. Great location, beautiful setting, comfortable and stylish accommodations, QUIET and relaxing. There are superb restaurants within a short driving distance but it's also very easy to dine in...bring along some eats that are easy to fix, you might just not want to leave after a day of wine tasting.

We spent 2 nights over the 4th of July weekend, with our outdoor oil paints and bicycles and had a great time. This place has beautiful architecture, massive windows on both sides for panoramic views of the rolling hills of the vinyards, and Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson in the distance. The decor is great. The grounds are a mix of olive groves, and flower nursery, along with fields of lavender. There is a gift shop on the first floor with olive oil tastings, cheese and olive picnic plates, coffee and shortbread cookies. The family who owns this place owns a wine tasting shop across the property which is also open for business. We had the whole place to ourselves one day and we were given the remote to he security gate and came and went as we pleased. The staff was attentive but not intrusive whatsoever. My only misgivings was that you climb a circular metal staircase to the apartment level, and it is awkward if you have a lot of heavy or large things to carry up. There is a nice shower, not large, but no bathtub! Nonetheless, I highly recommend this place and I am a picky person about my lodgings.

Room tip: There is no breakfast or food, so bring a few things to last you overnight at least.

My husband and I just finished three wonderful nights at the Red Ridge Farm Suite. It was the highlight of our trip to Oregon.

If you are looking for a place with local character, incredibly relaxing accommodations, amazing views, and gracious hosts, look no further. The location is also wonderful, central to many wineries and terrific restaurants.

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit, both in the US and internationally. I can honestly say this accommodation is in the top 5 of any place we have ever stayed. It is our "happy place"!

Imagine walking up the staircase, lined with dried lavender, to your apartment in the country. You can cook, relax, read, drink great Willamette wines (including their own), whatever you want. Downstairs is a wonderful shop that sells olive oils, gifts, wines, and decor. You can also buy plants and items for your garden (if you live locally).

It was truly our home away from home, and I can't wait to go back.

It was everything I would want to provide my own guests.

The Suite was very clean and had a super book collection. Comfortable bed.

Dreamy view. Great smells, lavender plants everywhere.

The owner supplied a bottle of their wine.

All in all one of the best places we have stayed in all our travels.

    Thanks!

    L & J
