The motel description is incorrect. Under the new ownership and after the remodel of the motel rooms, they no longer accept pets. Felt that the duck hunters who have stayed here the previous years should be aware of the new policy.

The first night the room wasn't cleaned while we were gone and we were told that it was because we didn't hang out the sign that says please clean the room. The second night, the bathroom was clean but the bed wasn' t made up . We were told that they don't touch any personal stuff. The the third night all was good. the wi-fi is very weak. The continental breakfast had very little left when we arrived at aboutr 9:45. The restaurant is not good for vegetarians. The amenities were good. Lighting in the room could be better. NO fan in the bathroom, no microwave, no hair dryers. When the curtains are open , the light is great but then there is no privacy. The TV is big and works well so does the AC/heat. It's not close to crater Lake -took about 45 minutes but it's a pretty drive.

Room Tip: All the rooms are about the same. All first floor facing the parking lot. car is close to door.

Rooms have been recently renovated and were very nice. The cost has gone up with the new rooms, but they are a huge improvement from previous stays there. We have stayed here for the last 6 years for the opening of Duck season.

We picked this place because of the closeness to Crater Lake where the lodge inside the park was full. It looks like a cheap motel from the outside but our room was nicely appointed. The room is overall clean but the floor was a bit dusty. The staff was very helpful and the restaurant nearby was definitely convenient.

Melita’s Motel Chiloquin

Imagine the days when mom-and-pop motels were new. They were still primitive relative to today’s standards, but they were new. This motel is recently refurbished, with a prox card for room entry, new heater/AC and 55” TV. Water was hot, sheets and towels were clean, on-site manager was helpful. Internet was pretty good. My room (107) was spacious, actually a one-bedroom instead of a studio. It had a refrigerator but no microwave. There were no guest rooms on either side, so I didn’t have to hear other guests through the walls.
They own the restaurant next door, which makes a great salad, especially considering how far off the beaten track Chiloquin turns out to be.

Cons: walls are still paper-thin, and US 97 is busier and noisier than you’d think. Seemed a bit pricey at $108 a night, but you’re paying to be reasonably close to Crater Lake, and the price keeps the riff-raff out.

Chiloquin is not the town it appears to be on the map. Chiloquin has no usable stores, not even a grocery. You have to go 25 miles to Klamath Falls for shopping.

I recommend the motel. It’s an outpost in a bygone part of Oregon.

Overall: 5/5 relative to any alternatives. Value: 4/5 because it’s pricey. Internet 4/5.

Room Tip: Room 7 has no rooms next to it.
