Pine Tavern is one of my favorite places in Bend to eat and for enjoying Happy Hour. Set in downtown Bend right on Mirror Pond with indoor and patio seating, it's not only historical (built in 1936) but has good food too. In the summer, it's fun to entertain out-of-town guests on the patio overlooking the water. In the winter, the place is bustling with people crowded into the bar and tucked away in its many little nooks. This is a must-see in Bend. And don't forget to try their famous three-cheese macaroni and cheese and delicious desserts! Pine Tavern is open for lunch and dinner.

Everything was great... from the hostess to the bar tender to the crab cakes. Highly recommend Pine Tavern.

We love to take advantage of the locally known specials that make it more affordable for the average local to partake in the food and beverage at this historic establishment in downtown Bend. With the expansion of the bar area, we now frequent Pine Tavern than before. Great location, decent prices at happy hour keep us coming back for more.

We were able to get a table in the bar, but the outdoor seating needed a reservation. Our server was pleasant, cocktails tasty, food average. After reading reviews about the "scones" and honey butter, I had higher expectations. It wasn't really a scone, but more like a donut. My shrimp and grits was definitely a long was from having good Cajun flavor. It needed more seasoning. The shrimp was tender, but, would have been better if they were grilled to given them more flavor and more Cajun spice was needed in the sauce. Grits needed salt. My husband had the ribeye. He liked it.

Drinks- order the Desert Rose! That was one delicious cocktail!!! Fresh ingredients and local gin (smooth flavor and not super junipery like Tanqurey).

This is a historic tavern with a wonderful location and if you can eat on the patio with views of the Deschutes River like we did, it is well worth going there. Our review is based on the fact we visited during the Solar Eclipse weekend and it was probably not like normal times. First, they limited the menu to only a few selection sighting the fact that deliveries were difficult during this period. Really?? Other restaurants we went to did not have that problem!. Also their food menu prices were inflated according to online prices and other people's experience (too bad). The service was only fair as our waiter mixed up my husband's order missing the grilled chicken in the mac and cheese and my fish was uneatable being overly spiced and I had asked specifically about this prior to ordering. To our server's credit, we were not charged my dinner and my husband was not charged the extra for the chicken. The wine was nice. What we did eat was good and the patio atmosphere was wonderful! We ate early without reservations and the restaurant was not that busy. When we left, however it was full so reservations are recommended. We would give the restaurant another chance at a different time of year.
