What a great way to spend an afternoon. The Gilcrease Museum is well laid out, easy to navigate and has a variety of excellent exhibits. My wife and I recently went to see the temporary Norman Rockwell exhibition. It was excellent. Even the in-house store supported the exhibit by having many different Norman Rockwell books and items for sale.

I went to the Gilcrease during a Tulsa visit in 2009 and have raved about it ever since. I came back today and it was better than I remembered. I love how they integrate history and art, so people like myself with no understanding of art and appreciate the art by reading the blurbs next to each piece. The experience was fascinating. Judy at the welcome desk was very helpful, as well!

Great fan of the Old West. Turned up on a Sunday morning not knowing that entry
was free. Not really into modern art but the Norman Rockwell exhibition was very
interesting. Old West paintings etc were the best I have seen and if you examined
every drawer in some of the rooms you could be there forever

If you get a guide you will find out so many interesting tidbits of information. The Norman Rockwell exhibit was on display.. it was great. You will not be disappointed.
