Great for bird watching. Nice Nature center. Good place for a weekend walk. Lake where you can feed the turtles and catfish. A red rock creek where you can walk

“Martin Park a little oasis in the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2012

Martin Pak is not very big and it is unfortunately surrounded by urban areas. In spite of the size it is a nice place for a walk. The trails are nice and some go through forest and others are more open. Nice bird feeding stations and blinds allow you to see some of the native birds close up. A small interpretive center is fun for kids and adults. In general I would recommend a visit to this place. In the warmer time of the year you can look for turtles in the lake.

“A beautiful walk through a lovely natural setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2012

Martin Park is an unexpected, large nature area in Oklahoma City. It is not hard to find in Northwestern Oklahoma City and houses some of the nicest walking opportunities available. Visitors can walk on beautiful trails, climb a tower for an aerial view, or visit the nature center.
Many people come to the park to jog, but just a little courtesy on the part of the walkers and joggers keep both happy. People are amazingly friendly, greeting eachother as they pass and pointing out things that they have seen. The bird blind is a must-see with several different kinds of birds playing, singing, and eating just feet away.
The nature center is receiving a much-needed face lift, but it is definitely worth a look.
Everything is free except the fuel to get there.

“Great free place for families or a date.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Fun day outing. We found a stream/brook that gave us a break to cool off in the 100 degree heat. Fun trails and great little informative hands on area too. Next we will bring a bucket of KFC and have a picnic.

“Peaceful place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2012

This is a no-bells-and-whistles nature center, but we love it for getting in a low-key outdoor workout. Although my husband and I are fitness enthusiasts, the trails are paved and accessible to all ages, children through older adults. We saw a number of families and strollers. Several small trails converge, so one can choose from a short walk/jog, to a very, very long one.
