We ate breakfast at the cafe twice since the hotel does not offer breakfast. The buffet was fine - nothing special on day one. Day two we ordered from the menu - the menu online is not current. Coffee was listed for $2.95 on menu which is already steep. Our plates were both $8.95. The bill came and the coffees were charged at $3.14 and the plates were $9.53. No idea why the prices didn't match.

Our last night, we went here for dinner and they were not serving the full menu - we would have gone elsewhere had we known. Seemed they do that a lot - have arbitrary specials and don't serve from the menu.

The service and scenery were great but the prices are not worth the food and they are only open till 8. If you're willing to drive elsewhere - do.

Thank Emily K

The restaurant was not crowded because of the off season, but service was still slow. For dinner we had fried trout and fried catfish. Both were well breaded and cooked just as they should be with a crisp outside and a moist, tender inside. It was a quiet and pleasant meal. The experience at breakfast was similar. Slow service, reasonably good food. The server was very friendly but not always on top of patron needs. The coffee was lukewarm.

The food was good but took forever. Enjoyed the fried catfish and fresh green beens, almost and hour and a half from order to served. Granted we were with a large group, 15 people and had not coordinated for dinner. The next morning, breakfast took >2 hours from order to check, and 3 hours the following morning. They were not staffed appropriately to handle our 50-person conference.

We tried the cafe even though I saw some less than stellar reviews. My husband got ill after eating here. I'd skip it and drive to Altus for food!

The Sundance Cafe is a pretty good restaurant in the main lodge. The staff was great and helpful. And very friendly. The food, all in all was pretty good. No really complaints.
