“well kept hotel and THE BEST people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2011

Not in an elegant neighborhood by any means, but safe, convenient for travel right off the highway, yet not noisy; easy gas & food nearby. Super, super clean inside & out, fantastic mattress & bedding. Really nice breakfast, even hot water that was really hot enough to make tea (pretty rare in most hotel breakfasts). The thing that made this chain hotel special was the staff! Every single staff person was great: friendly, welcoming, and super efficient! And when this hotel said they were "pet friendly" they really meant it. We would make a point of staying here again for sure!!!

Room Tip: just ask -- never met a better staff anywhere!

We travel often and stayed at this hotel this past Sunday and Wed nights. Recognizing that it is on the budget end of hotels, I still found that the management and staff made it a first rate experience.

The public and private areas are immaculate, the rooms spacious, the beds are comfortable. Free internet is included in the rooms, plus free internet access in the business center. The rooms have a small desk, with a comfortable business-type chair. A free breakfast in the lobby is provided, a serve yourself buffet type, comparable to other chains, with scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, etc. etc. Wed evening offered complimentary buffalo wings, cookies, and beverages in the lobby, all quite tasty. The staff is very attentive, accommodating and cordial.

We did not use the pool and hot tub, so cannot speak to those amenities.

Some reviews below refer to this as a remote location with little dining opporutnities other than fast food. Well. Yes and no. If you are on a limited time schedule, that is true. McD's and Wendy's are within a stone's throw, though we like the Duke and Duchess Truck Stop across the street, nicest truck stop I've ever seen, good salad bar, quiet ambiance, nice waitresses. Newcomerstown is within 100 miles of Columbus and Cleveland, and within 20 miles of other smaller, Ohio cities. If you have a more leisurely schedule, there are at least two wineries with restaurants within 5-10 miles, and you are on the edge of the Amish country in Ohio. The Warehouse restaurant in Coshocton, a 20 minute drive down the same four lane, divided highway that the Hampton is on, is a nice steaks/chops/chicken place and a place we have enjoyed on several occasions.

We are happy to find this place, and will stay there again when in this area overnight.

I wanted to take a moment, and respond to your great review. I am extremely happy that you had such a great stay. We here at Hampton cannot express how much we thank you for your kind words. The town is extremely small, but a little bit of travel can take you to so many great places in the area. This part of our amazing state has the beauty and history behind it, and with just a short drive you can experience so many different attractions, dining, and culture. We are just a stop to rest your head among the adventures of Tuscarawas, and Coshocton Counties.

Thank you again,

Hampton Inn Newcomerstown Ohio.

I was doing business in another corner of Ohio and stayed here in January. It was very comfortable, the staff at the front desk knew you by name as such was their occupancy rate, and the breakfast was great!

The rooms were classic Hampton Inn standards of comfort.

Location wise, if you find this hotel by accident, you are really lost. It's remote from even the town it is on the outskirts of. If it weren't for the highway exit next to it convenience would be zilch.

I would recommend the hotel and kudo's to the staff for their service!

Great place to stay. Clean rooms and hotel. Good food. Staff is friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home. We have stayed at this hotel three times and will return again. This is a very nice pet friendly hotel. Our dog Sheba likes it as well. She is treated like royalty and enjoys the attention she receives from all the staff.

I stay at Hampton's often when I travel, and this is one is the best. They are always on top of things, make you feel welcome. This place is very clean and organized. It seems they want to go the extra mile for you. Their creativity and quality on the breakfast was excellent. I do not write reviews, but thought I owed them this one.
