My daughter and I stayed 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer..
She was very happy with the lovely warm swimming pool and our studio which was the willows was very cosy and well equipped.
The grounds are lovely and peaceful and would definitely recommend.

Our accommodation at The Shingles Riverside Cottages, ours being The Willows Cottage, was up to expectations, very comfortable and the facilities were great, our hosts Veronica and John generously supplying a variety of cereals, tea, coffee, milk, eggs plus bread. A short walk down the path to the Derwent River and a lovely relaxing seating area, probably could throw in a line if you like to fish. There was outdoor seating from our kitchen and a bbq area around the other side, unfortunately the weather wasn’t good enough to partake. There are other cottages which you can view on their website.

What an amazing place to stay! We only stayed one night, but wished it could have been longer. As a family of four we stayed in the Birches cottage - it had everything we expected...and more. It was modern and clean with an incredible view of the river. With two bedrooms and comfy beds, a large bathroom, laundry facilities, a small kitchen and nice lounge area. Surrounded by beautiful gardens in a quiet location - not far from the Salmon Ponds (which is definitely worth a visit). We were delighted with the breakfast provisions - cereals, eggs, bread, milk, juice, tea and coffee (something not many places provide). We were also delighted to find a drawer of great DVD's, so after a meal at The New Norfolk Hotel with some friends my daughter and I sat up and watched Les Miserable before bed. The owner Veronica has some of her own amazing photography on show in the cottage which can be purchased. We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to other travellers.

Right on the river front these very nice apartments had everything we needed and more. It was warm, clean and comfortable. The fridge was stocked with bread, milk and cereals of different varieties were available. Nice quiet location.

We were a last minute walk in and were lucky to get a room next to the river. Very spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom self contained. Very clean and comfortable. The reverse cycle heater kept us warm in all rooms. The riverside jetty was the prefect spot to watch the sunset or sunrise.

Stayed: May 2017
