Delightful. Good food. Excellent service. And that doesn't include the beautiful view towards Mt Field, the River Derwent and parkland.
This pub is a real treasure and remains a fond favourite when we're in the area. Try it for yourself.

stayed for a night recently and was overall very happy with everything, a very old and interesting pub with quite an eerie feeling, had a steak and chips for tea and was also very happy with that, rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, I hope to come back sometime soon.

Dropped in one evening for a few drinks and a meal and were impressed by the hotel, the oldest continuously licensed pub in Australia, and the friendly staff. This Inn has history going back to the original settlement including a serial killer whose ghost still haunts the rooms, underground tunnels to the asylum used by inmates and residents!, a baptismal font used by a Methodist Minister in the 1830ies to baptise the locals visiting the Inn! - the venue oozes history. The food menu is extensive and home made - ask as nothing is impossible to order! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was so friendly you felt you were having a meal with friends! Dame Nellie Melba sang here (her two 45's are displayed for all to see) and the first transatlantic call was made from here (the phone used is still on the wall). Definitely a place to visit in New Norfolk.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

According to their info, this is the oldest continuously licenced pub in Australia. Good food (chicken schnitzel with tomato sauce and cheese), and nice cold beer. Overall, would be happy to recommend as a place to grab some food. However get there early as they stop food around 8PM

This pub is a fantastic example of a good ole Aussie pub. Yes it is a little dated inside but it is all genuine. The accomodation is all rooms consisting of old furniture, so if that's not your style, don't stay here. There is a lovely bistro at the rear with a huge area of decking overlooking the river.
The plum pudding is unreal!!!
