Arrived for a late lunch on a weekday. It was quiet as you'd expect on a weekday and at that time in a small town. Service was friendly and our meals were all good. The mulled cider was perfect, very tasty and a lighter alternative to mulled wine. The historical photos were interesting and I would go back again to eat and maybe with more time to explore the museum.

As a local I want to support the local business but I will not be returning. We turned up for lunch in the afternoon and the place was a mess. There was a few people waiting in line to order but by the time we got to the front of the line we were rudely told that they had sold out! I said "of everything?" and was told "well we finish meals at 2.30pm". We arrived at 210pm. Surely not all menu items were gone. The staff all look like they don't want to be there and none are trained in customer service. They did not even notice when a customer changed a baby's nappy on one of the couches. It a real pity as Franks is my favourite cider.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday drive to Franklin. It is a limited menu, offering light lunchs. A quirky place to sit and watch the river.

Be wary - Whats displayed is about double of what you actually get. The platter is removed from the cabinet, the slices then are halved, what appears to be a reasonable price for a slice of apple pie or whatever is actually expensive

Sorry you had this experience local696. I will look into the issue although this is a very unusual negative review. Thanks for your feedback, we try to offer value for money which is difficult in a rural area. Thanks
