Dined here evening of the 17th august with my partner and young daughter. We were really blown away by the food and service.the food was both delicious and beautifully presented. The owner and staff were both incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The falooda kulfi dessert was to die for!
Would absolutely reccomend Dastaan to anyone who enjoys fantastic Indian cuisine and we will certainly be visiting again!

Many thanks

Ewell is not a place normally associated with a gastronomic experience but at last a gem among the rubble. Dastaan is very well worth taking the time and double to find. Its unprepossessing but who cares, whats on the menu is imaginative, really well-prepared and beautifully cooked. The service was lovely, so friendly, relaxed and we were lucky enough to chat to the chef briefly who explained some of the dishes. We had at least eight different dishes shared between two couples and not one choice disappointed.
My advice : try and get a table now . It might be hard though because word is spreading- but its worth it. I can still taste some of the lovely flavours 24 hours later !!

Loved this restaurant! The décor and amenities aren't brilliant, but the food more than makes up for it. The serving staff were very attentive, if a little under pressure the night we were there, due to staff illness. But the chef answered all our questions, and coped with the one food intolerance really well. Even said to let him know in advance for next time and he would see if he could do something a bit different....great attitude. I don't know a whole lot about "real" indian food, but I think this must come close. The flavours were exceptional - each one seemed to sing out rather than be drowned in the usual brown gloop! And each dish is prepared to order, rather than just a panful of sauce being pimped with the addition of whatever protein one chooses. Brilliant!

The food is simply amazing. We love a "traditional curry" but also the likes of Veraswarmy. This is like the latter.

I had driven past this restaurant on a number of occasions and not paid it much attention until someone gave me a review in preparation for a girls night out. The outside is unassuming and inside is very relaxed. We had a very warm welcome and the menu was explained to us.

As we were a group of 6 chatty women, we were asked if we wanted them to chose for us and we agreed - explaining that there was a number of different tastes (and allergies) to cater for. We took it course by course and were not disappointed.

The starters were amazing and filling. Flavours bursting all over the place. There were things that I would never have normally ordered which were delicious (Beetroot Tikki in particular). Then we were brought a "grill course" and again everything was amazing. In the end there was no room for the "curry" course.

Wine was reasonably priced.

The atmosphere was relaxed - this is not a stuffy West End restaurant and we are so privileged to have this so close to home.

I only hope that it does not become too popular resulting in being unable to get a table!
