I was struck on entry by the kitchen smell permeating the restaurant. Not a good start. Though the restaurant is very spacious, our table for 2 was rather small. The service was mixed with one very good person in charge and another who gave you the impression she rather be somewhere else. The quality of the food was generally high though part of it was not hot. The between course sorbet was not a sorbet but more like an ice cream thus defeating its purpose. The pineapple dessert merits a special mention, tasty, with contrast, possibly the best dish of the meal. Coffee and petit fours were equally good. Maybe we were there on a bad day but overall it was disappointing.

We had the tasting menu for a lunchtime birthday bash with eight friends. Every course was superb, and the service was super efficient but unobtrusive. The Petritis certainly deserve all of the Awards they have received, from the Good Food Guide to the most recent LUX award for the best family run restaurant in Surrey. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for the Petritis. We had a brilliant time from start to finish and all of our friends look forward to their next visit.

For some reason, having just driven past, my partner wanted to visit here. We went for her birthday on Saturday lunch time. The welcome was very genuine and the seating provided more than sufficient space from other diners. The menu was shorter than the evening menu but still sufficient to give a food selection. We had different things from each other just to see and each was beautifully prepared and presented in the style ones sees on Master Chef. The unannounced Sorbet was also a lovely touch. All three courses were a really delight but the beef main course was the star. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. And (a bit of an odd comment, I know) the loos were bright, clean, spacious and fitted out as if at home. We don't live so close to here but I suspect we will be making regular returns. The price is very reasonable £30 for the lunch 3 course meal & a little more in the evening. I would have no hesitation in taking the family here. The seating is very comfortable but quite low which may not help older/frailer folk. If needed they can offer cushions to raise them up. Their web site shows they have won a number of awards over the last 3 years and the pedigree of the chief chef/owner. Worth a read. Council parking 50 yards away

Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented meal. Excellent service by the chef's wife who had been so helpful accommodating us having been let down by our previous booking. Peter, the amazingly talented and lovely piano player, made our experience complete. We'll be back soon...

Mother's Day lunch - fourth or fifth time I have eaten here and it never disappoints. Absolutely delectable food. Had a scallop starter with Jerusalem artichoke and tarragon and each mouthful was the perfect blend of tastes and textures.

It became very busy (good to see - it was a bit quiet last couple of times) but it remained relaxed, yet efficient. The atmosphere is very pleasant, never hectic. Very professionally run but friendly - husband and wife partnership. Good wine list with good choice for wine by the glass too. We loved the live music (talented pianist) which was perfect background. He is there once a week, I believe. Children very welcome but it is a 'grown up' restaurant, if that makes sense! Lovely loos.

Highly recommend for any special occasion or a business lunch. So glad to see all the great reviews, as Petriti's is something special.
