“Peaceful”
Reviewed 4 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

An out-of-the-way idyll. Being situated deep in the forgotten garden of England, Exmoor National Park, there are plenty of scenic walks to take in. The cottage we stayed in (Fern) was one of six, I think, and close together but you'd never know anyone else was there. You will want for nothing in the self-catering accommodation - we even received a bottle of wine when we booked in. The heated swimming pool is available for the every staying guest, but we only briefly met one other parent with their two children during our visit, and we were in the pool of every day for ages. And there is a small games room for the kids which consists a pool table (40p a game), table football, and table tennis.

There is no O2 or Giffgaff mobile phone signal whatsoever, and wifi is available but extremely limited, often non-existent - which was not a problem for us in anyway; it was a welcome relief from technology.

You will have to pay for the electricity you use, at 13p per unit. Apparently this was stated on the booking literature, but it was not obvious to me whilst booking. Again, not a problem at all for us - 3 nights during summer cost me £3-odd, but you'll see a bigger bill in the winter.

We will definitely stay there again because it was so welcoming and comfortable. The owners were really pleasant, too.

Management Response

Dear Roger,
Glad to read you enjoyed your holiday here at Triscombe. We do try & keep costs down for our guests by charging electricity at cost as an inclusive tariff would be more costly. Being a rural location in a National park, mobile signal as well as internet access can be a little erratic at times but the majority of our guests do love leaving the technical world behind for a relaxing break. We look forward to welcoming you again & the team wish you a Merry Christmas & all the very best for 2017.

Just had a weeks break at triscombe farm holiday cottages we had fern cottage which is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage which the owners very kindly let us have at the same price as a 1 bedroom cottage. The cottage was adequate for what we needed all though a little dated If you want WiFi youll be disappointed if your lucky enough to get connected its slow. the TV only got 2 stations so anyone wanting sit in front of TV all week would be disappointed. But as this was a walking holiday it proved to ideal for us, its in fantastic location very tranquil perfect for Exmoor area.
The owners Ruth & Bob were friendly & helpful theres a very nice heated pool & games room the nearest pub is a mile away up hill as real ales proper cider & good food.
Would I recommend triscombe farm yes if you require quiet peacefull holiday.

Reviewed 31 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We made a last minute booking and were so lucky to get this place.
The property was perfect for our needs, clean, nicely furnished with great facilities.
The pool was warm & very clean.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful, we were made to feel very welcome.
We had such a great stay that we hope to come back & stay again.
There was WiFi, but it could be a bit slow.
