I had afternoon tea with a friend (and dog) this afternoon, sitting by a large log fire at Ston Easton Park Hotel. It was excellent with a very good selection of savoury sandwiches, mouth-watering dainty pastries, followed by scones with jam and cream. All far too indulgent and tempting! There is also a vast selection of teas offered. In addition, we could not have asked for better service, everyone was very charming and helpful. This is a beautiful grand house with stunning grounds in a tranquil location.

I needed a break and knew of this hotel, it was peace and tranquillity - just what was needed. I was welcomed and made to feel special, I sat in one of their reception lounges/ salons and enjoyed roaring open fires, good hot coffee and freshly made biscuits. After this I wandered arround the other public rooms and made a mental note to return as soon as I could for food.

Booked this hotel as a stop off point on our way down to Cornwall and splashed out on one of the luxury four poster rooms hoping it would meet our expectations of a grandiouse country house hotel but unfortunately it fell somewhat short of our expectations.

We felt that the hotel was looking tired and needed some attention with flacking paint, missing handles, bathroom handle almost falling off, enamel to our bath pealing and titels dirty etc....

Although we'd booked what must have been one of the best rooms we felt that the decor was a little dated, couldn't quite understand 1950's style wallpaper and room was in need of some attention.

The lounge was very nice with roaring fire and nicely furnished.

The wine list was a little overpriced and food too salty and sweet with no carbs/veg with main course. Service in lounge was good but could be better when got to dining room especially when it came to pouring our wine in dining room where the wine glass was pretty much filled to the rim (white wine).

The lighting in the entrance hall and dining room was far too bright with LED lights with loss of atmoshere.

Big dissapointment and although could have been very nice was sadly lacking and well below other similar hotels in and around Bath.

We booked this hotel on Secret Escapes for 2 nights stay b&b but we decided to dine in the first night, we went for a pre dinner drink and my husband requested a beer and was told that they do not serve beer, however another gentleman was given one, I requested a gin and tonic and was asked which gin and requested Gordon's and despite being on the menu (as the cheapest) was not available! The food was fine dining so fine in fact that it was just 2 mouthfuls to eat. Breakfast was equally bad,the bacon and sausage had obviously been under the hot plate for a long time and the little mushroom was grilled to a frazzle. Very over priced and disappointing .
