We have just returned en masse from a family Christmas spent at Raisnbury and could not be have been happier with the house or great hospitality. Terry gave us a very warm welcome, decorated the house beautifully and even provided home baked treats to help us settle in.
I can’t fault the place- it felt cosy and spacious at the same time - lovely comfy beds and all the kitchen equipment we needed for Christmas dinner with all the trimmings...all except for the hostess trolley which my mother in law bought with us!
Thanks for everything Terry and Angela.
Exceptional accommodation throughout. Plenty of space for the young ones to play and adults to relax. Beautifully appointed. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds.
In short, everything you need.
Owners very friendly and accommodating.
I'd gladly return
We loved our trip to Somerset and the setting of these cottages couldn't be better. Beautiful country walks, delicious pub lunches in nearby villages and evenings in playing games provided the perfect time and space to reconnect with family. Each bedroom is tastfully decorated with lovely soft furnishings and homely touches. The beds are so comfy and we all slept like logs and slept through our morning alarms! Would highly recommend to anyone needing a break and time with their loved ones.
We have just spent a couple of days at Rainsbury House, and stayed in The Barn, which exceeded all our expectations. The barn is spacious, well equipped, cosy and a very comfortable place to stay. We were looking for a base from where we could explore the Exmoor National Park and surrounding areas. What a beautiful part of the country and would highly recommend Rainsbury House. Thank you so much Terry and Angie for your local insight and spot on tips for where to eat and pubs to visit.
We received a warm welcome from Terry and Angela with freshly made carrot cake, local eggs and chutney on the kitchen table. The Barn is spacious (our three families fit in easily) stylish and comfortable (great beds), and very well equipped (a garlic press, a pizza cutter, dishwasher and washing machine tabs). The garden is delightful and safe for small children (2 x 2 year olds and a 5 year old).
The local area provided train rides, castles, beaches and playgrounds at varying distances. And then there is the lake, which one of us ran around and one 68 year old biked (and walked), but is better taken in smaller bites!
We loved the dark skies at night, the empty lanes, the endlessly beautiful scenery and the 25% hills (the serious cyclist). A week was not long enough!
