Amazing hotel for a wedding venue. Staff makes the experience 5 star. Everyone is super professional yet personal enough to make you feel like royalty. CJ really took care of us throughout our wedding weekend. I cannot thank you enough for giving us such a stress free experience. The food for our wedding breakfast was delicious and everyone enjoyed all the dishes. The rooms were perfect for our guest. It is easy to see the natural beauty surrounding the hotel, but the true beauty lies in the hearts of the wonderful people working here. They treated us like family and made our experience unforgettable. Thank you again!

Such a disappointment, we had booked the battleborough for our end of term staff party, we had approx 60 people there and we were informed prior to attending that when our gathering had finished at 12 we could continue in the bar area, we were asked to leave by 11.15! The buffet was nothing short of appalling resulting in 95% of us having to go home and eat. The building is tired and the decor is dated. The only positive were the 2 members of female staff who worked the bar, they were great.

We went here for Sunday lunch it was excellent loads of vegetables to choose from and 3 meats. Staff were ferry friendly. We sat in the conservatory which made it very light and airy.
Easy parking outside the hotel

I booked three days at the hotel at the start of June, only to receive a phone call 4 days before the booking to say that my stay had been cancelled.

When questioned, it has been cancelled due to 'electrical work'.

As the booking was for the wife's birthday, i have had to make alternative arrangements, which due to the late notification has cost in the region of an additional £100.

I have contacted the hotel a number of times to discuss reimbursement for my loss, and either have been fobbed off with 'sorry i cant do anything' or 'i'll get the manager to call you back'. I'm still waiting three days later - appalling customer service in our opinion.

If the cancellation would have been the other way round, i'm sure that we would have incurred a cancellation charge - but they expect us to shrug our shoulders and accept it.

Absolutely disgusting, will not be booking ever again

Was so looking forward to a staff party here. With around 60 attendees, there was an inadequate buffet offering an extremely limited range of items and very little of it.

We were aware that at 23:00 we would have to leave the function room, but were told we would be able to use the bar. Sadly, after 15 minutes we were told that we would need to get our drinks because they were going to be closing the bar as they had things to do.

The majority of the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and certainly did not provide service with a smile.

In short, we were given an overpriced sub-standard evening.

I will not be coming back.
