We stopped here for a night during the last week of January. We have stayed on multiple occasions and, as ever, this was a very enjoyable visit.

The staff are pleasant, courteous, efficient, and make you feel welcome from the start. The hotel retains it centuries old charm and the recent refurbishments to the bar area have added to the feel, despite their "modernising" effects. Gold stars all round for the new bar fittings.

We ate at the hotel during the evening. As it happened we were the only ones in that evening - but this made no difference whatsoever to our dining pleasure as the food, the service and the ambience in front of the warming log fire was still superb. The chef was fantastic, and the food courses delicious. All cooked to perfection, washed down with a good wine, chosen from a well thought out wine list. A very fine experience.

The room was good, with everything one would expect, and, after a good night's sleep, there was the delicious (very) breakfast to enjoy.

All in all, another fantastic stay at the Raven. That, coupled with a stroll around the charming town that is Much Wenlock, and to finish off, some purchases from the fantastic food stall next to the hotel made it the perfect stay - once more!

My husband and I stayed at the Raven overnight as we were visiting a show nearby. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our room (3 the Forge) which is not in the main building. It was exceptionally clean with all the usual amenities and a very comfortable bed.
Prior to dinner we chose to sit in the lounge area and have a drink where we looked over the menu. The a la carte menu was on offer at £39 for 3 courses which we found to be excellent value for the quality of food served. We both chose dishes containing game which is sourced locally and was beautifully cooked and presented. Portion sizes were spot on too. We chose cheese instead of dessert as we’re not fussed on sweet things and there was ample choice of 3 different ones from a possible 6-7 also locally produced. To accompany our meal we opted for an Argentinian Malbec which was excellent and after our meal retired once again to the lounge for coffee and port.
Service throughout was faultless and attention to detail was great.
If we lived closer we would definitely revisit but a 4 hour drive makes it a little bit far for a meal out unfortunately.

Our third stay at the Raven and there will certainly be more. An ideal base for touring the beautiful county of Shropshire. Rooms that are an absolute delight to stay in. Comfortable, beautifully decorated and wonderfully appointed. The food from the restaurant is simply stunning. The team here are something else. Quality local ingredients are clearly the foundation to some inspirational creations. Value for money is extraordinary - you shouldn’t miss this.

The staff are all friendly, chatty, welcoming and above everything else, really interested in making your stay the very best it could be. Mr Heywood has put together and nurtured such a great team, all a credit to him and the Raven. Didn’t catch everyone’s names but Gary and Nuno deserve a special mention, as well as the young lady who races between reception duties and serving. You are all nothing short of amazing, and we are looking forward to returning for another spot of Raven-relaxation

This weekend has been a girly weekend in Much Wenlock Shropshire. Stayed in The Raven Hotel. Had a great time, the staff are wonderful, lovely to talk to, attentive and interested in their guests. Fine dining on Saturday night was amazing food, loved every mouthful. Our room was comfortable if a little dated decoration wise, but actually that added to the whole experience. I would highly reccomend a stay at the Raven, i know we will stay again. Thank you everyone for making our weekend so great.

This warm, welcoming hotel in the middle of Much Wenlock is as historical and attractive as the rest of the town. The management is most helpful. The rooms are unusual in their individuality, spacious with very comfortable beds and large bathrooms. The breakfast was excellent, with delicious home-made fruit salad and full English if needed. Within walking distance are the ruins of Much Wenlock Priory and a short car journey takes one to Ironbridge and the Coalbrookdale museums or Buildwas Abbey.
