Called in for lunch today on off chance and were lucky as we were early. Will reserve a table next time as very busy.
Raymond Blanc has done a superb job of refurbishing this old pub/inn and is a lovely place to go for a meal.
We had beef stroganoff and rice and brioche and butter sultana pudding with cream from their April set menu. Great and only £11.95 each. Drinks and coffee also reasonably priced. Could have gone for the A la Carte menu but no need.
Came home and booked to have Sunday lunch there in a couple of week's time for our wedding anniversary

This pub has been wonderfully refurbished and extended. The servicing staff are really attentive and always available. Strangely the refurbishment put the toilets upstairs which does not seem disabled friendly unless there is a hidden disabled toilet on the ground floor. In spite of the large number of tables the restaurant is very popular so they must be doing something right, but the food is not where it should be to keep the same standard. Example puy lentils with beetroot and goats cheese. The goats cheese was warm and flavourful but the lentils etc were stone cold (odd combination) and lacked flavour and character. Example pan fried Barnsley chop The chop was thin (only to be expected at the price asked) but more importantly lacked flavour which in any case would have been dominated by the over flavoured "gravy" - probably what the cooks would call "jus". There were some nice real ales to choose from.

Fabulous reasonably priced set lunch menu, great food and attentive, friendly service. Loved the country-cosy feel of the conservatory with the tweed blankets. Plenty of gluten free options on the menu.

We visited for a family meal in March 2018 and were all really impressed. The food was wonderful (particularly the duck leg confit, though my partner said the suckling pig was excellent and his father really enjoyed the lamb tagine) Absolutely lovely bottle of Chianti as well - what a brilliant evening, with friendly, attentive but not overbearing service. We will definitely be returning.

What a great Restaurant and much needed in Thame! Fabulous menu catering for all tastes. Dealt with my Sisters Nut Allergy very well something that some of the top restaurants in London have not been able to do. Food and service was very impressive, especially as we were a party of 8 on Easter Sunday. This place has been refurbished very well love the light, airy feel. Very welcomed addition to Thame.
