We stayed at Regal house for 4-nights in June as part of a 2-week tour around the Lake District and Northumbria. We wanted to visit the North East coast and Seahouses seemed to a good location to do this from.

Regal House is a bit outside of Seahouses town but this is to its benefit as it is quiet and has plenty of parking right next to the house. Julie had allocated us Room 1 which was very nice. The room size was good with lots of personal and thoughtful touches such as fresh bottles of water each day and very nice tea/coffee and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and best of all had a large walk-in shower which always had a hot and powerful supply of water.

Having stayed at a number of other B&Bs during our trip, it was so nice when we enquired about breakfast timings to be asked by Julie - when would you like to eat? Breakfast was very nice, hot and certainly set you up for the day.

We found Seahouses to be a bit limited for evening meals if you didn't want fish and chips or the expense of eating at the Old Ship Inn. So, our main tip would be to drive about 5-minutes up the coast to Bamburgh where there are 2-excellent places to eat in the evening - the Castle Inn and Milburn's Bar in the Victoria Hotel. There is also a brasserie in the hotel but you need to book and it is more expensive although the food looked nice. Both places have very nice food at reasonable prices (desserts in the Castle Inn are particularly good!). There is free parking outside around the green but watch out for the rookery providing free decoration of your car!!

Regal house is situated just on the outside of the main town and this makes it an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle, but it is certainly within walking distance to pubs and local shops so you can leave the car parked outside the house. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfasts delicious. Make sure you ask Julie about places to eat before you try them out. Wouldn't think twice about going there again!

Private house tucked away in a small estate about 20 minutes walk to Seahouses. Professional and very welcoming service with lovely buffet style breakfast for cereals and fruit plus usable cooked offering. Very clean and comfortable double room with a jacuzzi bath which was interesting but no shower for our room. safe parking outside the house. Good location to visit the Farne Is - trips in the afternoon to the inner Farnes during the breeding season. Seahouses is great for fish chips supper and make sure you wander up to Banburgh and view the castle from the beach

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and were made very welcome. It is a lovely place, pristine and as everything you need.

The owner is so welcoming and friendly that she makes you feel like you are going to stay with close family for the weekend.

The breakfast is perfect too. What more could you want?

Highly recommended.
